If you’re looking for a forever friend, there are a million reasons to give that pet a forever home. But there is a movement happening, which is “Adopt, Don’t Shop”. This basically means that if you’re planning on getting a dog or a cat (or any animal, really), instead of going to an online seller or a pet store, you should go to an animal shelter near you and adopt through there. Instead of shopping for an animal, you are adopting an animal. Just like you wouldn’t be shopping for a child, you shouldn’t be shopping for a pet.

So many kittens needing homes at this time of year,. Always adopt, don't shop.

Thank you to Cheryl Tarrant for use of her beautiful texture

She appeared out of nowhere. This was a couple of years ago during June while I was working on a ranch in South Dakota. She showed up walking through the pens of bulls that were outside of our working shed/building. She darted inside our building and hid. Eventually she let us handle her, but upon being set down she would follow us right back outside into the area with the 1000+ pound livestock : not okay obviously!

I acquired an old pet carrier from my boss out on the ranch and took the kitten back to where I was living. Treated her for any maladies and had her spayed. Shortly after I wound up driving her up to my home area (6 hours, she did great) in North Dakota and met with an acquaintance that would take her in. She gave the kitten to her mom whom had just recently had to say "Goodbye" to her older, senior cat a couple of months before.

Everything worked out. Thank goodness. There was absolutely no way I could go home and leave her in that environment. She is a very loving, and grateful kitten. Shortly after her move up North, her new family adopted a sister/companion for her as well 😊 ❤

"God, this is Bon Bon. Please make her stop pointing the camera at me. Make her put it away. Thank you. Amen."

Happy Furry Friday! 🐾

Bon Bon was watching the Disney channel last night. She loves Halloween, it’s actually a prerequisite to live with me, and she wants to be sure she gets it right. 👻🎃😻

I never thought I would see the say day....sharing the scratcher...and...I was actually able to take a photo of this miracle!! Woohoo!!

My dog is getting ready for the holidays. This is a hard time for me I lost my mom 1 year ago on Xmas Eve and she made Christmas special. Well she made every day special. Silly distractions and the love of this little guy help to get through.

His name is Pipit. Adopted from the BC SPCA found on the streets at 3 months. He is a mutt through and through. Your guess is as good as mine as what he is. Terrier X Shephard? Doesn't matter but he has brought back some joy to my heart and certainly helps in grieving. Oh and he gets along with my cat...

I'll share more of him soon.
