...I've realized this for some while, so why not analyze it. Why am I addicted?

1. Flickr is fun. It is entertaining to look at photos and to explore specific topics. It is also fun to comment on people's work. However, it is not fun enough to make me addicted, but it helps.

2. Flickr is great for learning photography. It is fascinating to browse Flickr for ideas, angles and techniques. It is also very useful to get feedback and ask questions about photos, techniques and equipment. It is fun to comment and get to know photographers. Flickr makes you more interested in photos, which motivates you to take more photos, which again motivates you to spend more time on Flickr. This is part of the addictive loop, but it also serves to swiftly stimulate and enhance your photographic abilities.

3. Flickr is a place for stats. I am a big fan of statistics. I like to see what gets views and speculate why. I have always been a nut for keeping tabs on things over time and how they evolve - like views on Flickr. This is definitely part of the addiction.

4. Flickr allows me to vent and express myself. It is fun to write about photos and let photos give insight into your thoughts and life. It is fun to try and have photos express what is going on in your life, what ideas you have.

5. Flickr allows me to create high quality albums for future reference. It lets me chronicle details from my life and trips. This will be cool to look back on in the future. It is like making a giant interactive scrapbook.

Ideally for my work I should cancel my account or prevent myself from logging in, but I won't. Flickr also motivates for all these reasons :) In some senses it is a good addiction, but it is really tempting to engage in Flickr induced work avoidance especially in my line of 'work'.

...and there are more coffee shops than you can shake a stick at. Excellent.

I have 2 crazy addictions. On is Law and Order SVU. The other is salty snacks. Corn makes me bloat, so I try to avoid it (good luck - it's in everything.) And yet, when weak, I find myself on the couch watching an SVU episode and munching on some sort of crazy fried snack.

hehehe, she's my aunt. she pretended to be a heroin addict. So real !!!

I re-edited this HDR of mine after reading "creating clarity in your photos" from farbspiel's "HDR Cookbook". Working at this HDR I used many techniques described in the awesome farbspiel's tutorial. Here I wish to thanks especially two persons: Trey Ratcliff from which I learnt to manage and love the HDR photography, and Klaus Herrmann from which I learnt what clarity is. Thanks

That would be her fault though~ she's the one who wanted to relax on my feet!!

Taken on my first trip to Cock Robin Island in Ferndale, CA last weekend. I heard a bunch of buzzing around the thistles on the side of the road and stooped down just in time to catch this little guy- just doing his thing...
