This place is amazing, full of wonderful little details. Papers, notices, catalogues, shelving, beer and chemicals have all been left to rot and create a rather toxic stench.
This photo was taken June 30, 1997 while the post office was still operating. The postmaster said the postal service was planning to close the office. At the time, the office was open until 4pm, so it was surprising that they closed it so soon. PO established as Hot Hill on August 27, 1872; name changed to Ada on September 26, 1872; suspended in late 1997, and officially discontinued January 3, 1998. Unincorporated.
