Al enige jaren verleden tijd, de Class 58 van ACTS, hier op 2 december 2004 door een inmiddels ietwat veranderd Rotterdam.

BETWEEN THE ACTS

Between the Acts is a bronze relief representing part of the drapery and hem of a brocade theatre curtain, which appears to be billowing through the brick facade of the building from the stage inside.
The King Street Theatre, similar to most contemporary theatres, does not have a stage curtain. Nevertheless, the curtain remains a powerful symbol of the border between everyday life and the heightened experience that is the theatre. The image of a curtain embodies the anticipation, the excitement, the sense of magic and transformation that lie at the core of the theatrical experience.
Since Theatre & Company has since closed, this artwork serves as a bit of a historical document of what was once there.
On my travels through the woods yesterday checking for a Barred Owl that was nowhere in sight but it had left a gift. A delicate downy soft feather. It is up probably a good 15ft out of reach... I spend the next 30 minutes or so picking sticks off the forest floor and hurling them at the branch trying to dislodge this darn feather, cursing myself for having such poor throwing skills!! After many attempts I finally managed to hone my aim and hit the offending branch that is holding my feather hostage! It bounces up and down and for moment looked as if it was going to fall... no. I am looking around for my next stick to throw muttering curses under my breath when I look up I see a man and woman who wandered in looking for an Owl and thinking they found a crazy person instead. I compose myself & explain what is going on. So he grabs a couple of sticks and takes his best crack, no dice.... I thank him for his efforts and they go on searching for an Owl. After a few more unsuccessful tries I finally concede defeat. I take a photo & leave that area, minutes later I hear someone behind me, it is the man and woman again. The woman smiles at me and slowly pulls her hand from behind her back holding up the Feather and gives it to me!! I don't know how they managed to get it but I just wanted to hug the both of them! Really made my day with their act of kindness. I will try and pay it forward. ❤

ACTS 1606 met in opzending de 7110 komt Harderwijk voorbij met goed beladen containertrein 50044 naar Veendam.

ACTS 1606, with 7110 (G1206) dead in tow, runs through Harderwijk operating train 50044 to Veendam - only containers.
LWB wanted a portrait of himself and his dog. So this is what I came up with. 3 lights: key, fill, and background illumination that acts as a bit of highlight. Taken beside a large window, but powered up enough to make that inconsequential.

Waar ooit twee sporen met bovenleiding hun weg vonden richting IJmuiden ligt nu slechts nog één spoor die op diverse punten in Velsen onderbroken is. Zo is de aansluiting al een aantal jaren geleden weg gehaald zijn zijn de overwegen weer gewoon wegen geworden. Het laatste stuk van de lijn heeft alweer plaats gemaakt voor een industrieterrein en begin 2011 wordt er begonnen aan een busbaan waarvoor het oude spoor plaats moet maken. Op deze plek zou dan ergens een dive-under moeten komen zodat de busbaan ongelijkvloers het spoor kan passeren. ACTS 7106 heeft met haar beladen AZK-Vuiltrein 50011 naar de Houtrakpolder net Santpoort Noord gepasseert, 17 november 2010.
Na een lange dag werd er weer koers naar Roosendaal gezet, en werd genoten van een werkelijk schitterende zonsondergang.
Als dia was deze beschadigd met ontwikkelen.
Als scan heb ik hem toch goed gekregen.
De voormalige NS 1221 kwam als laatste 1200 de 1255 lok nog bij ACTS er nog bij .

In 2002 heeft ACTS meer vervoer en daardoor meer loks nodig toen werden er loks bij NMBS gehuurd. En de Leeuwardenshuttle was fors vertraagd waardoor er in daglicht in Leeuwarden werd gerangeerd. Wie had het kunnen bedenken jaren eerder een Belgische diesellok rangerend in Leeuwarden.

Try as I might, I couldn't ID this tiny mushroom even with four books and the internet. I really have to get more information in the field to help with this. OM 90mm at f8 or so.

A Crested Caracara that looks like a hawk, acts like a vulture and is actually a falcon is primarily a scavenger that reaches the southern limits of Texas, Florida and Arizona. Birds that are primarily scavengers are at a rapid decline throughout the world faster than any other species. We probably need them more than any other species as well.
A most interesting duck, not only with its spoon shaped bill and its seemingly restless activity when feeding, but it is the 110 fine projections (lamellae) along its bill which are so interesting as it acts as a filtration system to keep those nutrients and seeds
