I'm too tired to add a caption.
Or maybe I'm tired of adding captions.
I sense "a mood" coming on.
22 February - A Doll A Day 2024
UPDATE: April 2025 - I need to make a note of the character names so I don't forget. I may have already forgotten. Let me see....
L to R:
Nora LeValle (sometimes spelled LaValle; her name is a play on that of Laura Neville, an action figure character created by Flickr member Gary Menten)
Beverly Ashbless (she's named after actress Beverly Aadland and fictional poet William Ashbless)
Margo "Sandi" Sanders (named after author Gerald Durrell's sister Margo, a next-door neighbor girl when I was a kid named Sandi, and actor George Sanders)
Collectively I refer to this trio as The Cuban Rebel Girls, as their general appearance is modeled after the illustrations on a movie poster for the 1959 film, Cuban Rebel Girls.
"A man cannot destroy the savage in him by denying its impulses. They only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it."
('Mr. Hyde' by MEZCO Toys / "Silent Screamers")
"Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"
Horror silent film (USA; 1920)
based upon Robert Louis Stevenson's novella "The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde"
Directed by John S. Robertson
Starring: John Barrymore (Dr. Henry Jekyll / Mr. Edward Hyde), Brandon Hurst (Sir George Carew) and Martha Mansfield (Millicent Carew)

I picked up an Integrity Toys Poppy Parker Galaxy Girl figure several months ago. Embarrassingly, I kind of forgot I had it! I was talking with one of the guys on an action figure forum about Integrity dolls the other day and I started looking around on eBay at prices and then I suddenly remembered -- hey! I have a mint-in-box unopened Poppy Parker Galaxy Girl around here... somewhere.
Only now did I get around to opening the box. There's an undeniable reality about Integrity releases -- as soon as you open it, MIB examples skyrocket in value on the secondary market. I've let the "fear factor" keep me from even touching the box.
Or boxes. As a result of winning two simultaneous online auctions, I ended up with two Galaxy Girls.
I checked online values today, and right now the secondary market (i.e. eBay) is flooded with Galaxy Girls. Apparently nobody wants a pink Poppy Parker. Prices have stabilized at about what I paid... or slightly less. Don't that just figure.
So I spent a couple of hours ripping open mint-in-box Poppy Parker dolls and putting them together and throwing away all the excess packaging -- all the little bags and cardboard bits and tie strings.
And what can I say: Galaxy Girl is out of this world! I mean, a Poppy Parker with gun hands! That's the defining characteristic of an "action figure," right there! Not only does she have "gun hands," she includes a retro-futuristic laser pistol! And two pairs of silvery space boots!
This doll... this ACTION FIGURE... is epic!
Both of them are epic. Double epic!
My photos are kinda craptastic. I'm trying to re-familiarize myself with my DSLR camera. There's a "camera story" that I won't go in to, but as a result I'm going to be trying to re-learn the DSLR.
Galaxy Girl, however, is far from craptastic; she's fan-freakin-tastic!
"And I ran. For a time, Tatsu Yamashiro vanished ... and I became Katana!"
