We finally got our first 10cm of snow and the kids have been waiting patiently for me since 7am to come back from work so I can take them sledding. There was so little snow you could feel the gravel below but we didn’t care and had a blast! We didn’t get out until after dark so we mounted all my bike lights to the sleds and heads.

Had @coty_hardy cruise through town with his sidekick Hero so I took them on a little hike down to the Christie Falls. The falls have already substantially shrunk since our last visit but today's point of attraction was an abandoned hut not too far away from the falls. I'm not sure if we didn't go far enough or if someone has charred down the entire cottage but what you see in the video is all that we found and we didn't really see another trail leading anywhere. Judging by the heavy wood burning stove in the middle of a large charred rectangle, it might be that someone burned the place down.

Have always wanted to see what this Chute Lake was all about and asked if the kids would be up for an adventure. They didn’t like the idea of a 1 hr forestry road drive but when I sweetened the deal with Mucho Burrito they were all in. The lake didn’t disappoint and we had a blast exploring all the little corners. Eddie swam along side us for the first little stretch and then went to chill in the truck while we went to see what was behind the bridge. The kids had such a good time they didn’t want to go home. The rec site looks amazing too for some camping.

Finally managed to take the kids to the not so secret Fintry Swimming Hole. Three water holes situated on three separate levels joint by waterfalls. On the second level you have two cliff jump platforms and a natural water slide where as on the third one you have a rope swing and some smaller cliff jumps. Kids had an amazing time, Eddie got to socialize a ton and everyone loved him. Should have arrived a bit sooner due to the sun not having a large window of reaching the canyon bottom. Also had to rush to get back to make it for my nightshift. Monday morning I drove the Honda with bike-on-board to Royal Bay.
I was here last Thursday but today with my bike in tow.
It was too windy to put the drone up but it was in my carrier.
Using the Vital Action Video Camera ($99CND) was a good idea.
It's as good as my 12yr-old GoPro except for battery life.
It was nice to be back in the area and the whole place can be covered in 15-minutes on a bike.
N.B. GPS track is 1700m distance.

I kept shooting video with the end cap in place, so I took a piece of colored duct tape and added to the lens cap to resolve the problem. I may remove it later and coat the outer portion of the lens cap with a bright fingernail polish so I can see it from side or back when on camera.

For round ✌we rode Baconator and the 1/4 was still very wet with some running water down the trails and pooling. Boys dug some drainage trenches to help those areas dry out quicker. But the rest was in prime condition and hella fun. Nobel Canyon never disappoints.
