An older shot I thought I would post.

Nothing special about the day.

I loved all the coloured lights & detail here... an artful touch of abstract =)

Eekhoorn - red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris)

For me at least, sunset colors/mood and surfing action/lifestyle make for an awesome photo combination.

Romeo was on the shed roof, checking if he had not forgotten something juicy. I was under the veranda, sitting after some hard work in the garden. I was looking at my friend through my camera lens when he decided to fly away. I clicked at the right moment to get a piece of the action :)) Not technically a very good photo but one that I like, even if I cut a bit of his left wing off !

Some action in the Port of Tacoma, WA on a very cold and clear December evening. I nearly froze my fingers in just a few minutes so the Longshoremen must be really prepared for this. It's a 4 shot HDR in Lightroom that tamed the crazy bright lights and contrast.

Thank you for your warm and kind visits my friends; you are very much appreciated! :)

Great Egret departing its perch on the railing of the boardwalk at Cullinan Park, Sugar Land, Texas, flying into the unknown. An experiment with the FZ300 in good light (09:34am, which is much better than in low light, e.g 0713am).

For this type of shots I usually use the Shutter Priority Mode with ISO Auto.

Here I used shutterspeed 1/5000 which gave a result of ISO 3200.

CN L56781-08 departs the yard at Proctor with a train of paper cars bound for Ranier. On the right, CN A40381-08 pulls to a stop after having just arrived from Pokegama. A trio of standard cabs sits at the left, in typical power for the ore and limestone trains on the Missabe here. Further in the distance on the left hand side, one of the very few SDs still wearing DMIR paint can be seen. Unfortunately, it stayed in this position for the entire weekend we were in Duluth.

The weekend wouldn't be complete without a shot of Ripley enjoying the great weather we had. This crazy toy is nicknamed "face hugger," and is one of her favorites. If you hadn't guessed it, Ripley is named after the character played by Sigourney Weaver in the movie Alien. :)

A warm summer day at the Danish West Coast with thunderstorm clouds is the perfect contrast to the dull and grey weather I face today in my hometown. Blavand, Jylland, Denmark

This male Bearded Tit / Reedling looks about to dart off on some daring escapade, maybe it is the striking moustache that makes me think that.

This chap had particularly dark irises (not often seen in the species) which added to the dashing look.

Taken in Norfolk.

Usually the black-crowned night herons (Nycticorax nycticorax) sit very still on a branch, they look like a stuffed bird! But this time there was some action: one of the 3 black-crowned night herons moved and actually opened its wings. A good photo opportunity!
