Tactical shooting requires agile and adaptive thinkers able to handle the challenges of full spectrum operations in an era of persistent conflict. To meet this requirement, TAPS delivers a comprehensive, systematic, progressive Train-the-Trainer shooting program focused on fundamental mastery and built for Law Enforcement officers, military personal, and qualified civilians. Designed for leaders and trainers, the TAPS course also applies to the patrol-level officer, basic level Soldiers, and civilian self & home defense minded shooters. The approach to instruction is through coaching and mentorship and both demonstrates and transfers a training method that is safe, effective, combat relevant, and encourages a continuous thought process that demands accountability. Training is conducted on the range and focuses on advanced refinement of the basic fundamentals of marksmanship as applied to the primary and secondary weapons systems. Utilizing a building block learning model, TAPS combines the pressures and dynamics of competitive shooting and tactical application. While course of instruction is on the firing range, the TAPS training approach also translates into training venues outside the range.

Course Outline:

The 2-day course offering provides the following training and instruction:

- Lecture on proper weapons handling and safety

- Refresh the fundamentals and grouping exercises

- Conduct a diagnostic course of fire

- Conduct a discussion on the importance of performing a focal shift during training and avoiding mundane drills that do not encourage a thought process

- Other topics covered and practiced are; grouping exercises with both primary and secondary weapon systems, target discrimination, use of barricades, movement, close quarter battle techniques, immediate action drills, ballistics 101, transitions, magazine changes

- Escalation of training and intensity will vary depending on number of students and their skill level though the core of the course will always remain the same

- This course is marksmanship intensive.

Governor Hogan Announces Proposed Legislation to Fix Failing Schools by Joe Andrucyk at Governors Reception Room, 100 State Circle, Annapolis MD 21401

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, where U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill serves as the top-ranking Democrat, today unanimously approved three McCaskill-backed bills to save taxpayer dollars and strengthen accountability. The bipartisan pieces of legislation prohibit bonuses for employees who commit serious misconduct, target misuse of government purchase and travel cards, and make it easier for agencies to solicit feedback from taxpayers.

Click HERE for more photos from today’s committee meeting.

“We need to do all we can so taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars aren’t going to waste—and I’m proud to come together with my Republican and Democratic colleagues to help hold government more accountable to the people,” said McCaskill, former Missouri State Auditor. “There are many areas where we can and should work hand-in-hand to find solutions to common problems, and I’m committed to doing exactly that.”

The following bills unanimously passed the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee today and now await approval from the full Senate:

• The Federal Agency Customer Experience Act rolls back federal regulations that make it difficult for agencies to get feedback from the public concerning their satisfaction with agencies’ performance. McCaskill introduced the bill with Republican Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma.

• The Stop Improper Federal Bonuses Act prohibits bonuses to government employees who have engaged in serious misconduct. McCaskill introduced the bill alongside Republican Senators Deb Fischer of Nebraska and Dean Heller of Nevada.

• The Saving Federal Dollars Through Better Use of Government Purchase and Travel Cards Act cracks down on waste, fraud and abuse in federal agency travel and purchase cards spending. McCaskill joined Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Democratic Senator Tom Carper of Delaware to introduce the bill.

Since her time as Missouri State Auditor, McCaskill has been a leading voice in Missouri and Washington for cutting wasteful government spending. In addition to the bills that passed the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee today, McCaskill also introduced the Eliminating Government-Funded Oil-Painting (EGO) Act with Republican Senators Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, and Deb Fischer of Nebraska to prohibit federal dollars from being used for lawmakers’ portraits. McCaskill has also targeted waste, fraud, and abuse by expanding whistleblower protections to government contractors, subcontractors, and others who the federal government directly or indirectly hires through bipartisan bills that have been signed into law. During her first term in the Senate, McCaskill waged a successful six-year effort to crack down on waste, fraud, and abuse in wartime contracting.

ABOUT Captain America: Civil War

Political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability when the actions of the Avengers lead to collateral damage. The new status quo deeply divides members of the team. Captain America (Chris Evans) believes superheroes should remain free to defend humanity without government interference. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) sharply disagrees and supports oversight. As the debate escalates into an all-out feud, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) must pick a side. www.CaptainAmerica.com/

5 May 2023 – ADB has committed to significantly increase its climate change financing. Ensuring its financing is fit for purpose requires much greater transparency, participation, and accountability. CSOs have strengths in all these areas.

This session tackled key issues on enhancing people’s access to information on how climate finance is being allocated, spent, and for what; CSOs and youth’s roles in design, implementation, and monitoring of climate finance projects; and how CSOs can constructively engage with governments and ADB to improve climate finance governance.

The event was held on the sidelines of the 56th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors.

Following a catastrophic fire in 24-floor Grenfell Tower residential building, in which 70+ people perished, survivors, relatives and supporters rally at the Department for Communities and Local Government to demand justice and accountability.

Residents of the building, which provides social housing in the UK's richest borough, had repeatedly warned of poor safety standards and fire risk, and on 14th June disaster struck with almost the entire building engulfed in flames within minutes. The final death toll is expected to rise as the fire service and police search the ruined building.

The rally was addressed by several speakers, including Matt Wrack, General Secretary of the Fire Brigades Union whose members fought the blaze. He spoke of the huge cuts in funding to the emergency services by the Conservative party under their "austerity" policy. The anger and sorrow in the crowd was very evident and a spontaneous decision was made to march to Downing Street, where the UK Prime Minister Theresa May resides. May has received much criticism for her failure to meet with survivors when she visited the site, in contrast to opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn and the Queen who both talked to local people while there. The crowd then moved to Portland Place, where the BBC is headquartered. The state broadcaster has received criticism for its coverage of the disaster.

WHO’S ACCOUNTABLE HERE?

“Hey…that’s not MY job.” – “When is Lee going to get me that report?” - “What is going on with the marketing report?” – “ When are they going to finish that thing?”- “I can’t believe Kim is so late in making those phone calls.” - “Okay…who dropped the ball this time?”

Does this sound familiar? If so, your team may be faced with a very serious challenge with accountability, which results in finger pointing, frustration and broken trust…both with your employees and your customers. Personal responsibility and accountability can put an end to the blame game, saving your business a huge amount of money by increasing productivity and overall job satisfaction, which results in very satisfied customers. But accountability does not come naturally and has to be systematically developed (that includes team accountability exercises).

The first characteristic of a highly accountable team is the ability to set a clear direction, in other words, the ability to clearly define and communicate the results the team wants to achieve. Both accountability and culture change begin with well-defined results. In fact, it makes little sense to initiate any accountability or culture change process without first clearly identifying the results (outcomes) you want and need to deliver.

In short: What is mutual accountability? It’s a crucial element of a good team that requires that ALL TEAM MEMBERS are held EQUALLY RESPONSIBLE .

MONROVIA, LIBERIA: August 28, 2017 - Following Liberia’s civil war, which ended in 2003, the government accelerated long-standing policies, which granted natural resource concessions to foreign companies. Since then, land in Liberia has been in high demand from foreign and national investors, particularly for palm oil plantations, mines, and timber concessions. In 2011, Liberia joined the Open Government Partnership committing to a dialogue on land rights and mapping land concessions. Since this time, it has finished two action plans. The third one will begin after President Sirleaf or the incoming president signs it. Through ongoing collaborative efforts by civil society and the government, more and more communities are learning about their land and finding a voice in discussions and debates about how to best move forward. In 2013, The Land Rights Act was introduced. If passed, it would legally recognize communities’ rights to their land. It also establishes safeguards to reduce discrimination against women and other vulnerable groups – who are often disproportionately affected by social and cultural barriers to using and owning land. The global economic crisis has turned a harsh spotlight on the role, accountability and transparency of banks and their leadership. In the outside world, public confidence and support is at an all-time low with far-reaching questions about the social utility of banks. On the inside, banks face complex challenges as they adapt to new regulatory environments and seek new ways to function as a profitable motor for the economy.

In this radically different operating landscape, the drive to rethink conventional business models is gathering momentum. This is further accelerated by big data, integrated analytics and new technologies that are transforming how banks and financial services go to market. Innovative renewal is needed if banks are to retain their central place in the payment system.

This session will bring stakeholders from different sectors together to identify options and best practices for a sustainable financial architecture that meets the needs of the economy, shareholders, entrepreneurs and the public.

Political accountability is a rare commodity in India. Therefore when a politician / party is elected to power - its considered to be a five year license to whatever they want.

But the electorate of India does not suffer fools for too long. Come election day and the fat cats are chased out of town. Now with the youth are discovering the power of vote - proudly showing their finger (with the indelible ink on it ofcourse, proof that they have cast their ballot)

South Sudan needs to move ahead now and enforce Justice and accountability, the top United Nations Diplomat, Ambassador Samantha Power, said on Saturday September 3, 2016, shortly after meeting with the council of ministers in Juba.

“For as long as armed actors, rape, loot and kill with impunity, for as long as they are not held accountable, it will be very hard for the cause of peace to take hold here,” Ambassador Power told the council of Ministers in Juba.

Security Council delegates reiterated that the United Nations and member states remain committed to see an end to violence so that people can begin to recover from years of conflict and alleviate the suffering of the people.
