Pitt Meadows, BC Canada
The Vancouver Grant Narrows Regional Park is a recreation and sightseeing destination located north of the community of Pitt Meadows, BC, Canada. The regional park is best known for its birdwatching and for its boat launch accessing the various waterways.
The Grant Narrows Regional Park is situated on the southern shores of Pitt Lake and on the banks of the Pitt River. However... it is an enclosed park surrounded by dykes and nearby wetland, bog and marsh areas - most notably the Katzie Marsh and the Pitt-Addington Marsh Wildlife Management Area.
The boat launch in the park is a very popular destination for accessing Pitt Lake by boat and for launching a canoe or kayak for river and wetland exploration. During the summer months one can rent a canoe or kayak in the Vancouver park.
The Grant Narrows Regional Park and the Pitt-Addington Marsh Wildlife Management Area are prime birding destinations. There are said to be over 200+ bird species sighted in the park including swans, sparrows, eagles, loons, ducks, geese, herons and osprey.
In the Grant Narrows Regional Park are hiking trails and dykes which circle the wetland area. One trail is called the Nature Trail and the other is the Pitt Lake Trail. On the trails are some wooden viewing towers for birdwatching.
A longest trail follows the outer perimeter of the park and loops around the Katze Marsh. The trail measures about 6.5 kilometres.

Hexham Bridge is a road bridge in Northumberland, England linking Hexham with the North Tyne valley. It lies north of the town of Hexham and is the main access to the A69 bypass.
The Tyne was crossed by two ferries called the east and the west boats. As a result of persistent agitation, a bridge was started in 1767 and completed in 1770. It was built by Mr Galt and consisted of seven arches. Less than a year later it was swept away in the great Tyne flood of 1771. In that flood, eight bridges shared the fate of Hexham. In 1774 a new attempt was made 46 metres to the west by Mr Wooler, an engineer who had been working on the new Newcastle bridge. Piles were sunk to carry the piers but work was abandoned on discovering that the "soil beneath the gravel was a quicksand with no more resistance than chaff". This first bridge, Hexham Old Bridge, was about 2 km upstream of the present bridge.
The authorities next approached John Smeaton, whose name as an engineer was famous. Henry Errington of Sandhoe was given the contract for the sum of £4,700, and work started in 1777. Although the half-completed piers were washed away the following year, work continued and the new bridge was opened to traffic in 1780. The Newcastle Chronicle, Saturday 8th July 1780 had "Saturday last, the passage along the New Bridge over Tyne at Hexham was opened, the Most Noble Errington was the first that passed it, who made a handsome present to the workmen." However, on 10 March 1782, there was a heavy fall of snow followed by a violent hurricane. The valleys of the north and south Tyne were inundated and the nine arches were completely overturned. They are still visible and act as a sort of weir. Robert Mylne, a famous architect and engineer, was called in to report on the feasibility of rebuilding Smeaton's bridge. He was eventually given the contract to build a fourth bridge, and the work was completed in 1793. It is listed as a Grade II* building by Historic England.

Amtrak Train #1, the westbound Sunset Limited, rolls past the former rice silos at Sawyer Yards just west of Downtown Houston.
The train here is on the Freight Main of UP's Houston Sub, having missed the Amtrak Station due to an alternate routing from Beaumont today (the station is on the Passenger Main, about a quarter mile to the south and a mile to the east of here). Today #1 took the normally eastbound-only Beaumont Sub (former MP) to get to Houston, which doesn't allow direct access to the Houston depot. So at Chaney Jct ahead, #1 will throw it in reverse and shove back a mile & a half to make their station stop.

The Neon Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, features signs from old casinos and other businesses displayed outdoors on 2.62 acres. The museum features a restored lobby shell from the defunct La Concha Motel as its visitor center, which officially opened on October 27, 2012. For many years, the Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO) stored many of these old signs in their "boneyard." The signs were slowly being destroyed by exposure to the elements. The signs are considered by Las Vegas locals, business owners and government organizations to be not only artistically, but also historically, significant to the culture of the city. Each of the restored signs in the collection holds a story about who created it and why it is important. The Neon Museum was founded in 1996 as a partnership between the Allied Arts Council of Southern Nevada and the City of Las Vegas. Today, it is an independent non-profit. Located on Las Vegas Boulevard and Bonanza, the Neon Museum includes the new Neon Boneyard Park, which is adjacent to the former YESCO Boneyard. The impetus behind the museum was the loss of the iconic sign from The Sands; after it closed in 1995, there was no place to store the massive sign, and it was scrapped. To mark its official opening in November 1996, the Neon Museum restored and installed the Hacienda Horse & Rider sign at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street. However, access to the collection was provided by appointment only. Annual attendance was approximately 12–20,000 during this time. In 2005, the historic La Concha lobby was donated to the museum, which moved and reassembled the building 4 miles (6.4 km) north along Las Vegas Boulevard after cutting it into eight pieces. It now serves as the museum's visitors' center and headquarters. Although it cost nearly $3 million to move and restore the La Concha, the plans to open a museum became concrete after the donation of the building, drawing a number of public and private grants and donations. In total, approximately $6.5 million was raised for the visitors' center, headquarters, a new park, and restoration of 15 major signs. In November 2009, the Neon Museum restored and installed the famous Silver Slipper sign across from its welcome center, and two more restored vintage signs were installed near the northern end of Las Vegas Boulevard to mark its designation as a National Scenic Byway. Paid public admission commenced on October 27, 2012, replacing the prior appointment-only basis. Attendance during the first year was 60,461, exceeding the early estimate of 45–50,000 visitors. After outgrowing its space in the former La Concha lobby shell, the museum moved its headquarters to old City Hall in 2016 and converted the offices into a museum store. In 2017, the museum purchased land for its first expansion since opening to the public in 2012. For its fifth anniversary, the Neon Museum offered free admission on October 28, 2017. In 2018, the Neon Museum administrative staff moved again to a space on the campus of the Las Vegas-Review Journal and opened a programming space there called Ne10 Studio.
