Agrandi, un détail de quelques centimètres de superficie devient une abstraction photographique.

This shot is dedicated to my Flickr friend Katrin Hagel who does an amazing job of taking the ordinary and putting into abstract view. Inspired would be an understatement. Thanks Katrin.

Color my Day

A poem by Katie Gabrielle

cotton candy colors always made me happy....

I like to watch the sugar spin

like a top

I like the scent of cotton candy

At the cotton candy stand

along the boardwalk

there are candy apples, carmel corn

and salt water taffy

but I wish to

take a taste of yesterday

sights and tastes and scent and sound

twirling the paper stick around

adding all the colors of the rainbow

pinks, blues, orange, yellows

sticky fingers

at the fair

eating cotton candy

nothing like it anywhere

spun sugar happiness

always eat it on the ferris wheel

spinning around and around

fingers full of cotton candy

sticky giggles

bubble gum flavors

color my day

with cotton candy

let the kid inside you

remember

and don't ever grow

up enough to

ever forget...

Das Bild entstand in den verlassenen Büroräumen einer Zeche. Es war stockdunkel dort, das Licht habe ich mit einer Taschenlampe bei Langzeitbelichtung erzeugt.

Thanks to resurgere@ deviantart.com for the great texture.

Another abstract distraction

Photo of a flower with texture added - the texture is from a picture of the side of an old school bus in a junkyard. This is what happens when I get bored. ha ha

For a few years now Eddy has been saving the rubber bands that the postie puts around the mail. They started out as a tiny ball and now we have a large rubber ball sitting on his desk. I gave this a bleach treatment as the rubber bands that the post office uses are rather dull colourwise.

In the sixties, these towers were built in Antwerp as a new cityproject. They were ment to be state of the art modern architecture and should create a new kind of city. Unfortenately, the project didn't reached it's goals and instead of becomming the new and hip place to be, it became the opposite. How the mind of an architect can be to far ahead for society...
