Solar Town and Village Planting Planning and Design Projects

A CO2 absorption strategy proposed by tree planting new solar town and village plans provides place and work for people displaced by global warming, pollution, etc. Full town and village area tree planting has maximum potential tree products as infrastructure patterns form on degraded land with close-planted interspersed tree, shrub, and grass species. Fast growth short-term yield trees, micro-climate protecting long-term slow growth trees, nitrogen fix soil, and provide food, fuel, and building material within a few years with adequate water. Water conservation works (small trenches, mounds) catch rain and seeds starting at watershed tops. Gully plugs and very small dams form circulation ways for people. Shaded walking and cycle paths, avenues, forest perma-culture parks with local sanitation systems, future building sites, urban and agriculture patterns are tree formed by a small hard working group. Trees can have good survival rates where people live (with water and compost material) caring for place with long term home commitment, beginning with indigenous tree, shrub and grass species that have survived many generations and extreme weather conditions. From tree centers (nurseries, seed banks) outlying areas are planted-maintained. Solar buildings and technology includes modular durable structural frames for low energy in-fills beginning with 1-2 levels, and foundations for ‘growing’ taller with the trees, with top solar collectors. Solar village houses have thru-mirror-wall greenhouse type oven kitchens. Environmental regeneration and town and village patterns tree formed with basic renewable–solar energy infrastructure planning may reduce the damage and loss of life due to global warming pollution and associated climate change extremes with modest investment.

Suspended time and absorption are central in our performative work. We perform „engrossed in an activity as if in denial of an audience“. We keep still. We move according to a choreographed path. We keep close to each other, we touch each other, we lie on the floor. From one tableau to the next. Holding the image for few minutes. One of us lies on a wooden plank. The whole leg, buttocks and lower back rest on the plank. Only shoulders and head touch the floor. The second figure is already doing a shoulderstand, bending the left knee and simultaneously stretching and leaning the right leg slightly over the head. The stretched leg remains leaning… The piece is inspired by the long scene in the sculpture garden at the Museum of Modern Art in New York from the film „Shadows“ by John Casavettes; Stills from Bob Fosse’s „All that Jazz“; photos of works by Yvonne Rainer and Rudolph von Laban and Kinesiology, physical therapy exercises.

After the absorption of Cyprus into the Persian Empire in 526/5 B.C. contacts increased with the wealthy East Greek cities on the western coast of Asia Minor, which had also fallen under Persian rule. The influence of Greek sculptural style can by seen in this statue of a man dedicated in a temple at Golgoi. He wears typical East Greek dress, a finely pleated linen chiton, and a woolen himation (cloak), and stands with left foot advanced in a pose that gives a subtle sense of movement. His smile and the jewel-like precision with which his hair and beard are carved remind one of Greek Archaic art of the sixth century B.C., but the style appears stiff and somewhat artificial in this statue, which was carved in the second quarter of the fifth century.
Like many Cypriot votive statues this figure wears a wreath of leaves and flowers. It is composed of oak leaves and stylized narcissus flowers, which must have evoked ideas of fertility and regeneration. The man holds gifts for the deity—a dove in his left hand and a cylindrical object, which probably represented a container of incense, in his right hand.
I saw a special exhibit of David Hockney portraits at Boston's MFA. Outside, they had a photo booth set up...I was inspired :)

For the test film of the Jupiter-9 lens I mounted it on the Leningrad camera (see below for detail about the lens and the camera). The lens was fitted with a generic yellow filter (screw-on 49mm) and a generic cylindrical metal shade hood designed for a 50mm lens. By safety, a lens cap fitted on the hood (55mm) was also used to protect the shutter curtains from an accidental sun burning (I forgot twice to remove the cap before shooting...)
I loaded the Leningrad with a Rollei RPX 400 film exposed for 250 ISO to compensate the absorption of the yellow filter. The light metering was done using a Minolta Autometer III with the 10° viewer for selective metering privileging the shadows areas.
The viewer of the Leningrad has build-in frame for the 85mm and is fully compensated for the parallax error.

After completion, the film was rewound and processed using 350 mL of Adox Adonal (Agfa Rodinal) developer prepared at the dilution 1+25 for 12min15 at 20°C.
Digitizing was made using a Sony A7 camera (ILCE-7, 24MP) fitted to a Minolta Auto Bellows III with the Minolta slide duplication accessory and Minolta Macro Bellow lens 1:3.5 f=50mm. The diffuse light source was a LED panel CineStill Cine-lite.
The RAW files obtained were inverted within the latest version available of Adobe Lightroom Classic (version 14.2) and edited to the final jpeg pictures without intermediate file. They are presented either as printer files with a frame or the full size JPEG's together with some documentary smartphone color pictures.
About the camera :
After several months, my local repair shop gave up to repair my first exemplary of Leningrad camera. I got that GOMZ Leningrad for less than the price of the lens (50€) a year ago (February 24, 2024, flic.kr/s/aHBqjBftyP) at the monthly collector meeting in Saint-Bonnet-de-Mure, near Lyon, France. I looked then again for a working one.
Leningrad’s are fascinating Russian range-finder 35mm camera’s produced in Leningrad (USSR) / Saint-Petersburg, from 1956 to 1968 at about 76.000 units. It is not really a rare camera but appears only from time-to-time in the classical collector’s networks.
The Leningrad camera project was developed by GOMZ company (ГОМЗ, Государственный оптико-механический завод, Ленинград = Gosularstvennyi Optiko-Mekhanicheskii Zavod =State Optical-Mechanical Factory), Leningrad, USSR. The Leningrad ’s were constructed to a very high degree of precision and likely the most advanced rangefinder ever made at that time in Russia. At the 1958 World Exposition in Brussels, the Leningrad was awarded the "Grand Prix de Bruxelles”. Modified Leningrads were also used in the Soviet space program. In addition to a complex parallax-compensated multi-focal (for 3.5, 5, 8.5 and 13.5cm) collimated system, the camera has a built-in spring-powered mechanical motor for an automated film advance after each view taken. The Leningrad mounts the 39mm Leica-type thread lenses, especially of the Jupiter series of lens derived of classical Carl Zeiss lenses designed for the Contax (Biogon 3.5cm and Sonnar’s 5, 8.5 and 13.5cm).
In 1965, GOMZ became LOMO ( ЛОМО, Ленинградское oптико-механическое oбъединение (Leningradskoïe Optiko-Mekhanitcheskoïe Obiedinienie) that is still existing, producing instrumental optical devices (www.lomo.ru).
On eBay, I focused on a LOMO Leningrad year 1965 in working condition but without the original film plate. I got the camera for 130€ including the leather bag and a standard lens Jupiter-8 1:2 f=5cm. The seller adapted cleanly a different film plate that looked to work, but my idea was to use the camera back of my faulty Leningrad. This film plate may a precision glass plate special designed for optimum film transport and optical planarity. I received my new Leningrad on January 31, 2025 in good condition.
After a very careful inspection and a detailled cleaning, I decided to make a test film using a FOMAPAN 200 black-and-white film. On the Leningrad it is said that there is absolutely no way to check the correct film advance during the shooting session. The rewind should not be up since the mechanical forces induced would be too high for the spring-powered spooling barrel. The film should be also in a quality not too tight film cartridge and should be checked before use. This stressful machine should be manipulated with maximum care when not familiar with it.
About the lens Jupiter-9:
New in my collection in Feb. 2025, this very popular lens Jupiter-9 1:2.8 f=85mm for my Zorki’s and Leningrad camera’s. The lens was produced in 1978 by the LZOS company (Лыткаринский завод Оптического Стекла , Lytkarino Zavod Optychisovo Sticklo) located in Lytkarino (about 100 km Noth to Moscow).
I sourced a clean exemplary in Germany at regular price given the popularity of the Jupiter-9 (170€) with the Leica 39mm thread mount, front and rear caps plus the lens black storage canister. The lens is popular especially among videographers due to its peculiar bokeh and perfectly round shaped diaphragm made of 15 blades.
Originally, the Jupiter 9 is based on the design of the Carl Zeiss Sonnar designed for the Zeiss Ikon Contax in the years 1930’s. Production began in USSR in 1948, when the lens was initially called the ЗК-85 (Sonnar Kransogorsk) and it was assembled using mostly German parts in Contax/Kiev mount. The lens was also adapted to Zorki (M39) mount to fit the Zorki cameras early in production It appears, for both Zorki and Kiev mount, in a 1949 catalogue. By 1951 the name changes to Jupiter 9 (Юпитер-9). The lens has seven glass elements in three groups; a single glass at the front, and two cemented groups of three. All versions of the lens are coated. It was made by the KMZ (Красногорский механический завод, Krasnogorski Mekhanicheskii Zavod) and LZOS factories, in Leica 39 mm thread mount for Fed and Zorki rangefinders, but originally it was a Contax bayonet used in Kiev cameras. Jupiter-9 lenses were also made at the Arsenal factory in Ukraine, for Kiev rangefinders,but initially released as KMZ. It was later adapted for M42-mount Zenit SLR cameras, with an M24×1 thread mount.

Wetlands are biodiversity rich sensitive ecosystems that harbor hundreds of plants, insects, birds and other animals uniquely adapted to their wetland mode of life.They are crucial to maintain the regional water balance through ground water recharge and absorption of flood waters and also serve as the rice bowl of developing countries. Nevertheless, wetlands play immense role in the socio-economic and livelihood aspects of local communities living around the wetland. In India, rural communities depend wetland for livelihood through farming, mat making etc; for food through fishing and hunting; for roof thatching by collection of reeds and palm leaf ; for firewood; for fodder etc. However, these wetlands are now under a threat of conversion for big industrial and real estate projects, change in lifestyle of local community, over extraction of resources by increased population, pollution,waste dumping, eutrophication and pesticide farming. There are three important wetlands in the Puducherry region namely Oussudu, Bahour and Kaliveli that provide important resources for local communities and also are a home to tens of thousands of migratory birds that visit the Puducherry region in winter. These wetlands have been acknowledged as Important Bird Areas(IBAs) by IBCN, since many of these birds are represented in more than 1% of their global population.
The recent threat on wetlands of Puducherry is more due to the change in life style of local community living around these wetlands. The younger generation is not much dependent on wetland resources, The younger and modern generation has lost the compassion and bonding to the wetland which their forefathers maintained through sustainable livelihood practices. This has resulted in a change in attitude and perception of the community towards unsustainable farming and resource extraction, game hunting, intensive fishing and reclamation, ultimately resulting in shrinking of wetland area and loss of biodiversity at an alarming pace. Local community is leaving the traditional farming practices for more fertilizer and pesticide based farming; fish stock is depleted using invasive Gill nets. Since Puducherry is fast developing region with rapidly growing commercial tourism and industrial establishments, these wetlands are under the threat of reclamation for resort construction and other commercial establishments. Poaching for a sport as well as open selling of birds including the threatened species is common. School drop-out are noticed to get attracted to such practices to make easy money as well as hunting for a sport with peers. With time, they may grow into expert hunters who will depend on poaching as the main source of income for the family. There are many wetland awareness programs organized by Forest Department as well as NGOs targeting school kids and educated community through workshops. School drop-outs are often not specially targeted by any of such programs and often not brought under the ambit of such programs. This gap needs to be addressed for local conservation efforts to be fully effective. We have chosen birds as the umbrella species whose conservation will in turn protect the lake and biodiversity as a whole. Birds are attractive and beautiful; ,which may easily get compassion from drop-out kids if guided appropriately. With proper efforts, the poachers can be turned to protectors and expert tour guides to facilitate ecotourism.
Floatation machine is applicable for the separation of nonferrous metal and ferrous metals, such as fluorite and talc. The impeller is driven by V-belts, which can bring the centrifugal effect to form negative pressure. While extracting sufficient air to mix with ore pulp, the machine stirs ore pulp and mixes it with chemicals to form mineralized froth. The impellers and stators should be kept at a distance and should be changed when worn. The bearing in the pump should be maintained every three months.

OK, I ride a bike. I have ridden bikes since about 1972 or so and have always used some method of calculating distance ridden, be it via a mechanical or electrical add-on or by simply estimating distance from a map. Electronic methods improved markedly from around 1980 and quickly became a fairly universal way to accurately measure distance, speed and some environmental variables like temperature. When heart rate monitors took off in the 1990s that became another useful data source for the bike racer or exercise enthusiast. More recently the ibike has put power measurement closer to a price point where serious club racers find it hard to say 'no'.
And now here is my new wireless ibike mount. So I have ditched wires. But I have also gained a few other tricks in the process, like an inbuilt HRM, a cadence sensor and the ability to estimate Watts expended whilst riding on the indoor trainer. It makes training more quantifiable.

Sample Module:
Homemade sampling module uses the high pure PTFE material, disassembly easy to clean or replace, reliable operation, every channel is completely isolated.
Control System:

Instrument Protection-Grounding Design:
Instruments have high-level intelligence, such as reagents fault adding warning (especially H2SO4 used in COD, if it is not H2SO4, it is likely to lead digestion tube burst), leakage protection (if there is leakage, the instrument will report errors), pressure relief valve (making pressure in digestion tube within a certain range).
All the external interface and main circuit of equipment is in isolation, which makes the normal sample without the outside interference. Especially for unequal potential connection, its effect is particularly evident.
In analog circuits (measurement module) also made electrical isolation, which makes the minimum possible interference on measurement.
Measuring Parts:
Modulating optical measurement makes no influence of external light on measurement, it is more stable.
External Interface:
Largest configuration has 2×4-20 mA output, 4×4-20 mA input, 2 switch input, 2 switch output, can access the PH meter, flow meter, ss and other equipment, and can display on the main interface.

It has five measuring platforms, suitable for the needs of different applications.
My photo walk of Tuesday, September 17, 2024 in Lyon, France. I expected a mixture of sunshine and clouds for testing the B+W red filter but in turn, the cloud cover was tight. I decided to keep the red filter for the whole film anyway.
I used my Hasselblad 500 C/M camera loaded with a Kentmere 100 film. The Carl Zeiss normal lens Planar CF 1:2.8 f=80mm was equipped with a 67mm screw-on filter Light Red 5 B+W type 090 adapted to the Hasselblad bayonet filter mount with a specific adaptor. The Zenza Bronica metal shade hood designed for the 75mm Nikkor-P lens was mounted additionally to the filter to its 67mm thread.
The film was exposed for 25 ISO to compensate of the filter light absorption using a Minolta Autometer III and its 10° viewer for selective measurement privileging the shadow area's or by measuring the incident light with the opalescent dome.

After the view #12 exposed, the film was fully rolled to the taking spool and was developed in a Paterson tank with a spiral adapted to the 70mm large film. 500 mL of Adox Adonal (Agfa Rodinal) developer were prepared at the dilution 1+50 and the film processed for 15min at 20°C.
Digitizing was made using a Sony A7 camera (ILCE-7, 24MP) held on a Minolta vertical macro stative device and adapted to a Minolta MD Macro lens 1:3.5 f=50mm. The light source was a LED panel (approx. 4x5') CineStill Cine-lite fitted with film holder "Lobster" to maintain flat the 70mm film.
The RAW files obtained were inverted within LR and edited to the final jpeg pictures without intermediate file. They are presented either as printed files with frame or the full size JPEG's together with some documentary smartphone color pictures.
About my Hasselblad 500C/M:
I remember that somewhere around 2002, I considered to buy a Hasselblad camera. I gave up because I had no more access to a darkroom and I found too complicated to recreate one or to delegate the processing to a service lab. Afterward, I started digital photography that distracted me to operate again with films until more recently. It is only when I could manage in 2022 a reliable and quality way to exploit my negatives in a reasonable time, that I really could enjoy again of analog photography.
On July 17, 2024, I decided to buy "my" Hasselblad in a very traditional way, almost as I could in the 90’s, in a local real photographic store, Lyon, France. The store « Carré Couleur » of Jacques Larger, rue Servient, Lyon, France, is a long-time specialist of professional medium-format camera’s including Hasselblad ones. They had on display several revised and 6-month guaranteed camera’s and a large choice of lenses and accessories.`
I choose a 500 C/M year 1978 and a Carl Zeiss lens Planar T* 1:2.8 f=80mm of the CF series year 1986, plus a small set of little Hasselblad goodies. The 500 C/M is totally mechanical without any electrical nor electronic circuitry. The 500 C/M's were produced in Göteborg, Sweden, from year 1970 to 1994. They followed the production of the 500C camera’s (1957-1970). The latest V-series camera (503 CX, CW, CWI etc) ceased in 2006 and Hasselblad then produced only digital camera’s but also digital camera backs that could fit to the V-series includingbthis 500 C/M (www.hasselbladhistorical.eu/HS/HSTable.aspx)
This CF lens series has central shutter Prontor (Synchro-Compur for the earlier Zeiss series). They are more cylindrical than earlier series and equipped of the proprietary bayonet filter mount B60. The delayed shutter realease was also abandoned. The focusing screen is the « Bright » series with the Dodin stigmometer in the screen centrer and the squared cross-ruling lines. Later 501 and 503 were basically equipped with an even more brighter screen called « Acute-mat ». The camera back could dated from year 1977 is an « A-12 » back « A » standing for « Automatic ». The film advance automatically stops at view 1 with view counter on the right camera side.
After a complete demo by Jacques Larger, I studied the camera manipulation at home with the user manual in hand (an original edition of 1980) before doing the decisive « film d’essai » (test film) on a sunny morning of July 20, 2024.
The results show very high-quality, highly-contrasted negative views, perfectly exposed and spaced proving the good technical state of the camera, film magazine, and the lens/shutter.
On sept. 2, 2024, I received from a French specialist of collection camera's, a second film magazine Hasselblad "A12". This back is in a pristine condition and matches the production year 1978 (Hasselblad letter coding "UR") of the 500 C/M body.
The camera back is like a new with almost no signs of use. It arrived in its original Hasselblad box including the original user manual too. The film insert has latest 3 digits matching the film magazine serial number, that is not the case of the other magazine. Unmatched magazines and inserts, are very common and assumed not to be a technical problem, but Hasselblad maintained the pairing of the insert magazine to ensure to the customers of the best attention to the precision of the film plane.
