24.11.23. Since the service changes of July 2023 Cawthorne's have only been running two services other than those catering for home-to-school movements: the 3 between Rotherham and Ravenfield Common and the 35a between Chapeltown and Warren Lane. Each requires only bus and the former-Heathrow Scanias appear to be the usual performers. In this photograph YR10 AXB is leaving Rotherham Interchange on the 1215 service 3 journey to Ravenfield Common via Broom, Wickersley and Flanderwell (the destination display shown is for the return journey and shows these points in reverse order). The bus is still in its Heathrow colours, with some residual lettering above the windows (hea om/parking) - no mention of its current owners. (Photo taken 24 Nov 2023, posted 4 Jan 2024)

This aircraft was delivered to TWA Trans World Airlines as N12308 in Jul-68. It was sold to a lessor in Feb-84 and leased back to TWA. It was returned to the lessor in Feb-96 and sold to Transtel as 5V-TPB (Togo) in Apr-96 and leased to Air Dabia in Jul-96. It was returned to Transtel in Dec-98. The aircraft was sold to African Airlines International as 5Y-AXB in Jan-99. It was eventually broken up at Nairobi, Kenya. No further information. (Updated Oct-18).

RATP London United (VH45262, LF18 AXB, Hounslow Heath/Tamian Way (HH)-based) at London Heathrow Airport Central Bus Station, London. Body no AQ946, delivered new 27/03/2018 via Wrightbus Ballymena.
One of the SAS stretched DC8-63s seen taxiing past Car Park 2 on another murky day. The stretched DC8s were a lot less common than the standard DC8s, as they were used mostly on long haul flights.
N8755 c/n 46097 Douglas DC-8-63 was delivered new to Eastern Airlines in December 1969. The aircraft was sold to SAS in February 1974, and became OY-KTH 'Bue Viking'. The aircraft flew with SAS for six years, although in 1979 it switched countries and became Norwegian LN-MOF. In 1980 it was leased to charter subsidiary Scanair, and was renamed 'Thyra Viking'. After short leases to Icelandair and Air Algérie in 1982, and another renaming to 'Blenda Viking', the aircraft finally left Scandinavia in 1989, returning to the USA as N793AL with Aerolease Financial Group - it was then converted to a pure freighter. After four years with Challenge Air Cargo and Arrow Air, the aircraft passed to ABX Air as N815AX. In 2007, the aircraft left the USA for the last time and became 9G-AXB with Air Charter Express. After a final period of storage at Ostend, Belgium, it was broken up around 2013.
