Of course, this is usually the reason for coming to this place: it is one of the few stretches of line in Switzerland where you can actually photograph Autoverlad trains. That said, late August is really a bit too late in the year, seeing as you have to wait until after 10AM for the sun to rise above the mountains - and by then it is already throwing shadows on the locomotive front. But, seeing as these elegant brown machines may soon be history in front of these trains, it was still worth it. Re 4/4 186 is arriving at Kandersteg with an Autoverlad from Goppenstein. Kandersteg, 21-08-2020.

Der jüngste von fünf Turmfalken ist 50m von unserem Haus weg aus dem Kasten gefallen. Wir wurden vom Landwirt informiert also gingen wir schauen was los war. Sofort entdeckten wir den kleinen. Er hatte zum Glück schon das Alter das er selber atzen konnte und nicht mehr gefüttert werden musste. So haben wir ihn einfach auf den nahen Hochstammapfel gesetzt und schauten eine Woche lang nach ihm. Allerdings haben wir ihn jeden Tag ein bis zwei mal wieder raufsetzen müssen weil er im Gras unten stand. So war er halbwegs sicher vor Raubwild. Die Altfalken haben ihm sofort Beute in den Baum gebracht. Weil er sich schnell an uns gewöhnt hatte atzte er seelenruhig auch wenn ich mit der Kamera unter dem Baum stand. So entstand dieses Bild. Es war das einzige Mal das er mit Beute so günstig im Apfelbaum stand.

Mittlerweile sind alle ausgeflogen und wir sehen immer wieder.
