Pictured is Jaras Chaimueangchuen, a member of the Arlington Generals travel soccer team, after receiving his medal for winning the 2008 CASL Shootout. The Generals competed in the "U15B United Calcio" division of the tournament, with games held at the Preston Soccer Fields in Cary, North Carolina. Jaras scored two of the team's eight total goals during the tournament, and made several assists.
In addition to their success in North Carolina, the team had an exceptional regular season this fall, finishing second in the National Capital Soccer League's division 2, likely earning the Generals a promotion to division 1 next season. Division 1 is the highest division in the League.
Prior to the CASL Shootout, the Arlington Generals were ranked 20th among U15 boys soccer teams in Virginia. A first place finish at this 4th most competitive soccer tournament in the United States, combined with their regular season success in the NCSL, has since boosted them to to the number 15 slot. Also factored in to the team's ranking was their second place finish in the Discovery Cup in Maryland this October, and their first place finish in the Kirkwood Boys Premier Tournament in Delaware this June.
There is still one possible tournament remaining for the Generals in December, depending on scheduling issues. If the team participates, they will compete at their home fields in Arlington, Virginia.
