Vandaag organiseerde het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken in het World Forum in Den Haag het Youth at Heart virtual forum. Meer dan 1200 merendeels jonge deelnemers uit 100 landen spraken online over de totstandkoming van een inclusieve en duurzame samenleving. Minister Kaag, in quarantaine, nam vanuit huis digitaal deel aan de bijeenkomst.
Jongeren worden in het bijzonder getroffen door de COVID-crisis. Tegelijkertijd zijn zij het vaak die met de innovatieve ideeën komen die we zo hard nodig hebben. BZ heeft het Youth at Hearth virtual forum georganiseerd om deze onderwerpen te bespreken. Door te luisteren naar jongeren en met hen in gesprek te gaan over wat zij nodig hebben en welke ideeën zij hebben, wordt het mogelijk de volgende generatie een beter vooruitzicht te bieden.

Harborough at War 2022. A very hot weekend with far too much sun and no clouds - definitely not ideal for taking photos, but kudos to all who took part and provided an excellent spectacle. I was drained after just a few hours of wandering round, so how people coped for the whole weekend while wearing heavy uniforms I will never know :)

On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 11 a.m., Bishop David Walkowiak celebrated the final Mass at St. James in Grand Rapids to mark the permanent closing of the church. It was the first service held there in more than two years. Members of the community, many with longtime connections to the church and former school filled the pews and shared memories of their time as parishioners and students at St. James.
Concelebrants at the Mass included current pastor of the Basilica and St. James Very Rev. Ron Hutchinson, former pastors Msgr. R. Louis Stasker, and Father Steve Cron, as well as Father Mike Alber who attended school at St. James.
Bishop Walkowiak said in a statement: "The decision to close a church is not easy. The emotional connection people have to their spiritual home runs deep and decisions like this are hard to accept.
At the same time, we must be cognizant of the current realities. There is a declining population in an area from which multiple parishes draw parishioners, a shortage of priests to assign to individual parishes, and needed repairs that cannot be financed. For these reasons, this difficult decision has been made.
I am hopeful that through and in Christ, this new reality can bring about further good in the community by making the Basilica of Saint Adalbert a more vibrant parish community with the resources necessary to accomplish that mission.”

Carry Nation House at 211 W. Fowler Avenue in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. It was built in 1882. Carry and David Nation bought the home for $2,500 in 1889. Carry sold the house in 1902 and used the money to make a payment on a house in Kansas City, Kansas for the wives and children of drunkards. The Women's Christian Temperance Union (W.C.T.U.) of Medicine Lodge purchased the house in 1950 and later gave it to the city.

In the 1970s, the Missoula Field Office was part of a visionary team that established the Blackfoot Challenge to coordinate resource management across all ownerships in the Blackfoot watershed, which resulted in a plan to acquire the private timberlands into public ownership. In the mid-90s, the BLM owned only 40 acres of land on the Blackfoot River.
