It's getting colder. Nights get longer. 3 hours of sleep will be a lot. Fine with me. 2 am.

Grungy - My Bathroom Rain Bucket - Day 16 of Inktober 2024
For some reason my karma is such that I tend to live places where it periodically rains inside. This is definitely the grungiest corner of Cat Land! I recorded the drops while sketching so I could upload a very Portland ASMR.
Mixed media: Ballpoint pen, ink wash and gouache on paper. 7 x 11 1/2 in.
Now here's a picture that doesn't look like much, but it has a nice backstory.
Prasanth is a man who lives in India and runs a YouTube channel called "Check It Out". He post daily videos, featuring random odds and ends. The items he shows range from food to sporting equipment. I really can't describe what all he has featured, because he has so many items to show.
I found "Check It Out" in an Unintentional ASMR playlist, and this is the main reason I love Check It Out. He has such a calm speaking voice, and he speaks so quietly, that the videos are very relaxing to watch and listen to. He has stated that he is not an ASMR channel, but still has an ASMR playlist due to many peoples request.
So once I found his channel, I almost immediately subbed, and commented on a few videos. On one of my comments, Prasanth responded, asking me to please email him, as he wanted to reach out to me. He often gives away items to clear up space, and he chose me to give his minifigures to. I agreed, and his package arrived today.
These are the figures he sent me. They are from various CMF's, City sets, and a Star Wars advent calendar. I just wanted to take a groupshot of all the figures together.
Prasanth is also very humble, and does not want any shout-outs. I was going to do an un-boxing video on my channel for this package, but he kindly told me it was not needed. He doesn't want any shout outs because he likes to respond to each comment on his videos individually, and if he gains more subscribers, he fears he will not be able to keep up with all of the people commenting to respond to them. He is happy with the amount he currently has.
Since I wont make a video about Check It Out, I at least wanted to mention him here. I'm also going to leave a link to his channel. This is what the Space Station looks like at night… well, not exactly night : some of my crewmates are still around the dinner table! 6 months together on an expedition builds solid ties between us. Science goes on 24 hours as many experiments inside and outside the Station run without us interacting with them, we can sometimes hear the hum or clicks of machinery doing their stuff for ISS research through the night.
Mesdames et messieurs, la Station spatiale internationale... de nuit ! Ou presque : certains de mes co-équipiers sont encore autour de la table. C'est un moment très important pour nous. Nous sommes occupés toute la journée à nos diverses tâches et les repas sont nos rares moments ensemble. Et je vous assure que 6 mois d'expéditions, ça crée des amitiés fortes :) Les expériences se déroulent 24h sur 24h dans et autour de l'ISS, parfois sans que nous ayons besoin d'interagir avec elle. La nuit, on peut parfois les entendre fredonner ou cliqueter... #ASMR
