I certianly prefer Marceline with Bubblegum, but Ash is too great to not make. He tells me to make him sandwiches all day. With tomato.

Hey guys...now back from our trip to The Lake District. Very mixed weather, but a great time regardless. Here's the first edited shot of Ashness Bridge with Derwent Water in the distance.

Rare bird still hanging out in our since January 30th!

Clear skies this morning, so perfect for playing with Infra Red. And a run out for my old Nikon D40 which has been languishing in a box. Unfortunately, at first I forgot it had been languishing without an SD card in it.....

Ashness Falls

With all the water and autumn colours I found this angle of Ashness Bridge very interesting.

Let me know what you think.

Today the ash was back in Edinburgh and making cool auras around the sun again (evening from our front door)

Ashness Bridge is a traditional stone-built bridge on the single-track road from the Borrowdale road to Watendlath in the Northern Lake district

We were wandering around the lowland fells just out of Keswick, and enjoying the late afternoon sun streaming through golden yellow foliage, when we came upon this famous and totally over-photographed landmark which appears on many a postcard (are they even a thing any more?!) from the area. There were about ten photographers in the usual place above the bridge, tripods drawn, and vying for the top spot, but the problem was other tourists getting in the way taking their selfies on the bridge. I decided not to join in the jostling and head downstream for a different angle on it and I was pleased with the result. A lovely sunny day in the Lakes, full of intensely rich Autumn colour.

QJ 6981 sits on the ash pits at the Daban depot of the Jitong Railway. This was a really busy depot and took me back 40 years to when I last saw such intensity of steam working in the UK.

Lucky for me this rare bird is still hanging around in our area!

Ash Cave was my third and final stop on my late Oct visit to the Hocking Hills State park, near Logan. I think Ash Cave is just an amazing place, and very changing to capture in a photograph.

Ashness Jetty at last light

Photo taken at Coon Bluff on the Salt River, this afternoon. One of my favourite birds. We chased this one through the Mesquite trees this afternoon. It definitely has a "bubble" as I could not get as close as I wanted. None the less, the photo turned out okay.

The (very popular) view at Ashness bridge. Late in the day and crowded ...

Ash Falls ~ Dirty.Pretty. One of the most amazing surf experiences in SL. Throw on your wetsuit and head on over to this sim. It is a cold water sim with black sand beach set in the Pacific Northwest. Jules and ʟöv created this sim back in 2017, and it beautifully landscaped giving you the perfect setting to take amazing photos.

One thing about this sim I loved so much is when you join the group there is a small fee to join, but all funds go to adopt an orca, see below link to find out more details about adopting an orca, dolphin or whale. I visit Ash falls as much as I can, because it is probably the only place I can surf so hard with the many varieties of waves, while dodging boulders and just really losing myself in the surf. I highly recommend this sim not just for surfing, but cozy places to just relax with your thoughts and immerse yourself in the beauty. You will find a C-3 rezzer on the pier right when you land on the sim.

The sim also has 6 rental properties on the sim, please see below to find details and more on their website listed below. There is a waiting list, but definitely add your name to the list. It is worth the wait.

Ashness bridge looking into the Borrowdale valley and a distant view of Derwent water

A long exposure shot of the Ashness Jetty at Derwentwater in the English Lake District. Just 10 minutes after I took this shot, it was totally dark!

Day 161 - Ash and Pikachu - I made these for a friend, and I think they turned out really well. I made the Pokemon Ash figure where I hand-painted the torso, arms, hat, head, and "shoes," as well as the pokeball (which uses a BrickArms grenade - I"m really happy with how that came out). I did want to make a Pikachu for Ash, and played around with a couple ideas. If I had to do it over again, I would get rid of the 1x1 round stud between the minifigure head and the BrickArms grenade (used as the head), but overall, I'm really happy with how they came out.

As always, thanks for looking!

taken on a recent trip to the lake district

this was our final stop of day 1 and it was definitely worth it even though it was freezing!

This old sod house is below Windlass Hill an area along the trail.

_______________________

Windlass Hill is located along the Oregon-California Trail. The hill marked the entrance from the high table lands to the south into the Ash Hollow area and the North Platte River valley. Wagon ruts are visible on the hill. The name "Windlass Hill" was not used by the emigrants, and the source of the name is unknown. Emigrants had a hard time going down the hill at a 25-degree angle, going down for about 300 feet.

Ashness Autumn

I headed out when there was a break in the rain. I wasn’t going to stop at the bridge but with all this autumn colour I just had to.

Not much of the Bridge in this view but still a fantastic view. There can be no better places in the world for Landscape photography than the Lake District in favourable light and conditions, even on gloomy days the light has an amazing saturated and vibrant quality

I drove down to Hackberry Flats, a big birding area in southwest Oklahoma. The have a lot of birds migrating through that area.

This is rare bird find in Oklahoma.

I used a 1.4 teleconverter on 500 5.6 lens for the first time. It will take more work.

Ashness jetty on Derwent Water. Wasn't supposed to be a proper shot so took it handheld as a holiday snap but quite liked how it looked so decided to use it.

A week later and our ash is allowing himself to believe that Spring is here. Ironically, the weather has turned cold and wet again, but Ash will continue to hold onto his hope for the Summer.
