I'd pretty much given up there being any kind of sunset here today as it was very overcast and raining on/off, just driving about I ended up near to here and decided to shoot the pier on Derwentwater, as I got there over the wall there were already 2 photographers there waiting for a break in the weather so with 3 being more than a crowd I decided scrap that idea and come up here instead hoping there wasn't anyone else about, and just chance waiting it out for just a bit of decent evening light.
Amazingly there wasn't another soul about here, which is pretty rare, and after setting up and waiting for a while I even got a decent break in the weather as well, it usually doesn't work out like that but if you don't try you don't get.... about 10 minutes after this image a huge storm blew over with torrential rain, which I took great pleasure in watching from the comfort of the car :-)
Ash is my best friend. When I'm troubled I can talk to him. Or just celebrate the beauty of a Spring morning with him. He teaches me endurance in the face of the storms of life and the changing seasons. Here he is in a rather happy mood, knowing that Winter is past and he can put on his green finery. Can you see the young leaves starting to appear at the end of his branches?

The classic shot at Ashness Bridge. Got set up and waited for the sun to move more to my left to hit the rocks and bridge. Not very often you have this place to yourself.

Ash Cave
Hocking Hills State Park
Logan, Ohio
Situated in the southern region of Hocking Hills State Park, Ash Cave is the largest recess cave in the state, measuring 700 feet from end to end with the rim rising 90 feet high. Ash Cave - beyond doubt is the most spectacular feature of the entire park.
Ash Cave is one of my favorite places to visit especially after several days of good heavy rain.

A sunny Sunday afternoon and no-one here? Well, there was but they wandered back to their cars after a few mins.
on 30th March the law to stay at home was lifted and a trip to the Lake District found it very quiet meaning I could get this shot at Ashness Bridge , the place was all to myself for 30 minutes, unheard of on days with weatehr like that
Ashness Jetty on Derwent Water at sunset. This is a popular venue that I had earmarked to visit. On the first evening I couldn't find anywhere to park.On the second evening,it was filled with teenagers .. having a party. On the third evening,it had but one person on it,a photographer from my part of the world - Paul Evans. Two further togs turned up,so it got a bit busy, but Paul gladly stepped aside so I could grab a few shots. Many thanks Paul.In hindsight and with more time,I would have made a longer exposure, but I will go back again in the future. This is my first effort. :-)

Ashness Jetty on Derwent Water, this is the 3rd of the series of shots taken on monday evening. This one just as the fiery sky starts to ease back. I couldn't be here and not do the jetty, but i fancied doing a closer view of the end of the jetty. Derwent Water, Keswick in the Lake District.
I met Ash the artist and musician on the streets of Bath, we had a great chat about his travels around the world and about New Orleans I place I would love to photograph.
