Three possible scenarios here; this Asda trolley has died on the spawning migration up the river, it threw itself off the bridge, or more likely, person or persons unknown have thrown it off.
Allover advert buses in the London Transport fleet were pretty thin on the ground in the eighties. A couple of RMLs could be found [Underwoods and Y Fronts] and a pair of Titans in ASDA supermarkets livery.
T283 is seen at North Woolwich advertising the Beckton store [The other was Isle of Dogs] in its predominantley white livery making it stand out like a sore thumb in the sea of red.
As a footnote if you look at the old Asda logo of a stylised letter 'A' and search for a photo of an Air Berlin aircraft the similarities are pretty close.
