Arthur did one high pass over the Sneydes Rd paddock while I was there but must have decided that with the two Black-shouldered Kites and two Nankeen Kestrels hunting the paddock he would look somewhere else for lunch.

My third trip to see Arthur.. I arrived much earlier to catch better light.. 80 mile trip from my home.. ARTHUR

It's Arthur's birthday! :D (Jan. 20th.)

He's enjoying his strawberry cake and doing all of this favorite elf things. :p

O lindo, sorridente, gordinho e dorminhoco Arthur <3

Coatbridge never fails to throw up a bit out of the norm with a handful of operators all providing local services in the Monklands area. Arthurs Coaches of Coatbridge operate the Kirkwood shuttle (going back to Kelvin Central days) with route 115 (Coatbridge town centre-Kirkwood) which services the local roads, not just the main roads. Volvo B10M-50 Citybus/Northern Counties G113 NGN is seen here deputising for a Dennis Dart or Mercedes mini, at least this conforms with the DDA act. It was new to London Buses as VC13 in November 1989 and usually operates on schools only. Arthurs coaches are one of four local companies that have sold out to McGill's of Greenock with routes proposed to change on April 4.

Hurricane Arthur mostly missed Norfolk, Virginia but did produce some angry wind, waves and sky. Took this shot Saturday morning near the Little Creek inlet and break wall. Had a hard time keeping my filter free from spray in the 40 knot winds.

Loch Arthur is the most northern of the putative Excalibur lakes. Loch Arthur is just outside of the town of Beeswing, between the towns of Dumfries and Castle Douglas. The lake is set in the trees and surrounded by hills.

Although locals claim that King Arthur's sword rests on the bottom of Loch Arthur, there are no stories, only the name to make any connection with King Arthur.

Il passe un mauvais quart d'heure.

Merci de vos visites.

P431 KSX is a Volvo Olympian with Alexander Royale bodywork new in November 1996 as Lothian Buses 431. On disposal from Lothian it joined the Eve Coaches of Dunbar fleet and then Arthur's Coaches of Coatbridge acquired it during 2014 for school services. It is seen here working on loan to DA Coaches of Coatbridge, who is related to Arthurs Coaches. Unsure if it requires a decker or if its substituting for a sick Dart.

Scene of Arthur's battle with a giant and sited with fabulous views this megalith is orientated on a North-South based axis. To the South it aligns with the distinctive mountain of Mynydd Pen-y-fâl, a coincidence?

Bedd Arthur is a prehistoric monument of uncertain purpose. In the background is Carn Menyn, probable source of Stonehenge's bluestones.

On reaching Bedd Arthur the dog froze and stared at it for ages! I wonder what stories it could tell.

Handsome Arthur is my nephew's all white kitty.

I think Arthur was getting rather cross with the photoshoot at this point..

Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh.

I've been stalking a picture of Arthur's Seat from this spot ever since taking one a few months back with a lomo phone app on the camera phone. But, having finally got there with the proper camera, when I sat down to edit, something quite different happened... Proof, yet again, that I *cannot* (and perhaps should not) take, edit or make the same picture twice...

Arthur 'Nick' Carter was the oldest serving soldier in the British Army when he retired in 1951. Photo was taken in 1948.

Private Carter served for 50 years & saw active service in both the Boer War and the Great War.

Photo: Private Arthur (Nick) Carter served in the KSLI for 50 years from 1901-1951. He saw active service during the Boer War in South Africa and also in France during the First World War. On his left arm he is wearing ten good conduct stripes, the most ever awarded to anyone in the British Army. When he was discharged in 1951 he was the oldest serving soldier and had remained a private soldier from his own choice. Talking to Private Carter is the Earl of Povis, who was Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire. To his left is Major General Grover, and on the far right is Lt. Col. Shaw-Ball. After Private Carter was discharged, he lived in a rented room opposite his old Barracks.

Private Arthur 'Nick' Carter enlisted with the King's Shropshire Light Infantry in 1901 and actively served in the Second Boer War (1899–1902) and World War One (1914–1918).
