Happy birthday Merrythought

2025 is Merryhtought's 95th anniversary year

For this special occasion, Merrythought released this bear

named Merrythought.

Mine arrived yesterday

Hand crafted in Merrythought, a British historical factory. The plush is mohair and the paws are made of cotton velvet

Let it snow....let it snow.....

They have arrived - migrating dabbling ducks such as this Northern Pintail that is.

Today at John Heinz NWR I saw a wide variety including large flocks of pintails, shovelers, gadwalls and teals.

The journey was seven miles from Paignton to Kingswear.

The scenery was super, interesting and varied. :-))

Amtrak 6 is cruising into town some two hours late on a beautiful morning. It's hard to beat a snow capped mountain backdrop. Helper, UT 4/15/2023

Early morning at the pond, with a little bit of snow.

Now that I am back in San Diego, I plan on doing as much gardening as I can. Moderate temps and lots of sunshine! These are Nemesias, Lavender and Salvia. These started blooming around the first of March..have no idea how long they will last. (I don't know what the white ones are, if anybody knows. Their tag blew away).

Autumn has arrived as we head towards Chute Lake on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail.

Copper Basin OT-1 arrives at the dumping site at Hayden. From here, the copper ore cars will be dumped and carried uphill by conveyor to the ASARCO smelter.

The last stop on our Reading & Northern chase was here splitting the controlled signals just south of the former Lehigh Valley Coxton Yard that is the end point of the run from North Reading. This is MP 3.1 on what modern day RBMN designates as their Susquehanna Branch, the continuation of the former Conrail upper Lehigh Line acquired in 1996. They are crossing over and running parallel here to the former Lackawanna Bloomsburg branch that just to the right of and below them and that is also now operated by RBMN here in this area.

Leading the way is 5019 in its new one of a kind (for now) paint scheme. This locomotive is a rebuilt SD50-2 acquired from CSXT that was originally blt. Mar. 1984 as Seaboard System 8550.

WSOR train L599 is arriving Ackerville, WI. My index finger felt like it was going to fall off after I shot this, due to the 2 degree temperature with a nice wind on this bridge.

Black-throated Mango (male) - Widespread but uncommon. Occurring throughout the tropics of South America from Panama to northeast Argentina, the Black-throated Mango is the most widespread member of its genus, and among the most widespread of all hummingbirds. It is primarily found in open vegetation with bushes and scattered trees in many kinds of humid and dry habitats. Despite its widespread distribution, the species shows almost no geographic variation due perhaps to its impressive dispersal capabilities. Migratory, they are seen in São Paulo during spring / summer.

Have a Peaceful Day!

I walk to the outside door.

Make yourself comfortable, then I'll prepare your food
