Montpellier has a triumphal arch too. Since July 2016 you can get here by tram again via the new link between Observatoire and Place Albert 1er. This street, a former moat, saw the first electric trams in 1897

The Arc de Triomphe (Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile) is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (originally named Place de l'Étoile), at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.[1] There is a smaller arch, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, which stands west of the Louvre. The Arc de Triomphe (in English: "Triumphal Arch") honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and the Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.
The Arc de Triomphe is the linchpin of the historic axis (Axe historique) — a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares on a route which goes from the courtyard of the Louvre, to the Grande Arche de la Défense. The monument was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806, and its iconographic program pitted heroically nude French youths against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail. It set the tone for public monuments, with triumphant patriotic messages, until World War I.
The monument stands 50 m (160 ft) in height, 45 m (148 ft) wide and 22 m (72 ft) deep. The large vault is 29.19 m (95.8 ft) high and 14.62 m (48.0 ft) wide. The small vault is 18.68 m (61.3 ft) high and 8.44 m (27.7 ft) wide. It is the second largesttriumphal arch in existence.[2] Its design was inspired by the Roman Arch of Titus. The Arc de Triomphe is so colossal that three weeks after the Paris victory parade in 1919, marking the end of hostilities in World War I, Charles Godefroy flew hisNieuport biplane through it, with the event captured on newsreel.[3][4][5]

This is a kitchen close-up. Linda was starting to cook lunch and set a pressure cooker on the counter. Sunlight coming through venetian blinds reflected off the cooker's stainless steel and created fantastic streaks of light and shadow. Lunch was late...

After a commission to create some ROTS-style clones, I opted to create a new wave of clone customs that I've always wanted to make. Seeing how similar the armors from ROTS and AOTC were, I made a number of new P1 and P2 clones that will be released in the coming weeks using this new template.
The first to be shown is none other than Fordo. Despite his appearance with the CWP1 armor in the animated show, I wanted to make an AOTC version of him, as I loved Tyler's prints for the EP2 clone helmets. He features my new EP2/EP3 template that will be the basis of many new customs to come.
I already have four the 10+ clones finished, so keep an eye out for those. I also have 4 new completely sculpted figures almost done ~ As always, expect more, and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Dove finisce l'arcobaleno
Dove finisce l'arcobaleno
Noi canteremo insieme,
neri e bianchi fratelli,una canzone.
E sarà un canto pieno di tristezza.
Non ne sappiamo il motivo
difficile a imparare.
ma noi lo impareremo tutti insieme
Non esiste un motivo che sia nero,
Non esiste un motivo che sia bianco.
C'è musica soltanto
e canteremo musica,fratello,
dove finisce l'arcobaleno.

The other landmark of Paris. This one was taken during blue hour before sunrise. You would think that a city like this never sleeps but there was remarkably little traffic on the streets. No cars were photoshopped out in the process of making the image. It was that empty. Only the occasional vehicle, me and a very shady looking guy who was kind of following me around. At least in my mind. Probably he was just waiting for the Metro to start operating. Either way... I left.
Wanted by Napoleon in 1806, the Arc de Triomphe was inaugurated in 1836 by the French king, Louis-Philippe, who dedicated it to the armies of the Revolution. It stands at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the center of Place Charles de Gaulle, formerly named Place de l'Étoile—the étoile or "star" of the juncture formed by its twelve radiating avenues
The matte painting (which can be translated with painting backgrounds) is a technique used mainly in film used to allow the representation of landscapes or places otherwise too costly or impossible to reconstruct or reach directly.

There's not many LEGO renditions of this ship on the internet so I thought I'd try my had at one.
I had been working on this for a month or so before I saw Caleb Rick's version on Flickr. It definitely inspired me to re-work a few areas, but I tried to stick with my original vision as much as I could.
This is one of my favourite Star Wars vehicles, it's a shame it's so under-represented in LEGO!
It was pretty cloudy, when I set up my camera, but all of a sudden the sun came below the clouds just before it set and shined brightly right through the gate of the arc!

This is Mariel's take on an abstract composition. She captured this on one of our 'photo walks' (a term borrowed from Outlier's Eye: www.flickr.com/photos/eileen_mcfall/) around Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. We need to go on more of these field trips together!
