An old pic from 2014 of my favorite buck to photo. He's not in Wild Oklahoma group and I want to share him. I watched him for several years. He was always an upright six-point, but had a massive body. Carried his head erect and reminded me of an Arabian stallion. He was willing to take on all challengers and I never saw him back down or get whipped. I last saw him in Jan. of 2018. I still think of him fondly.
Book a night or two at this desert Airbnb and enjoy endless vistas of the Arabian Desert. It's reputed that Aladdin stayed here for a night on his quest for the magic lamp.

The Arabian Bustard (Ardeotis arabs) despite its name only occurs in the extreme south-west bit of the Arabian peninsula in Yemen. It is on the Western Palearctic list as it used to occur in Morocco (plus two 19th Century reports from Algeria), but it is now extinct there. It currently occurs in a fairly narrow band across Africa, mainly just south of the Sahara. But it is not particularly common. I photographed this one at the Alledeghi Plains close to Awash in Ethiopia. Interestingly their colour tends to match the geology, so bustards in areas with red soils are reddish, while those in sandy areas are sandy-coloured like this one.

Wish you a great rest of this week!
A caravanserai, or khan, also known as caravansary, caravansera, or caravansara in English or Sarai in Indian subcontinent (Persian: كاروانسرا kārvānsarā or کاروانسرای kārvānsarāi, Turkish: kervansaray) was a roadside inn where travelers could rest and recover from the day's journey. Caravanserais supported the flow of commerce, information, and people across the network of trade routes covering Asia, North Africa, and South-Eastern Europe, especially along the Silk Road.
Mellow, classy and beautiful. Arabian Nights are one of the most popular ranges. Slow burning art on a candle. Available now in the UK
Arabian Nights by Lynne Anzelc designs kit and wordart
A table top still life of vintage silver stemware on a silver tray. Ancient earthenware and strings of beads in the dimly lit background. The scene is illuminated by the old-time lantern and an antique oil lamp just right from the Arabian Nights tales. If you rub the lamp thoroughly, a jinn might appear and you may order him to pour some gin into goblets. Or maybe it would be not gin but some magical drink. For example, the elixir of the Eternal Youth. Whatever you like. The jinn would be at your service. But you shoud rub the lamp really thoroughly.
A well on the side of a road of Sintra in Portugal.
there are a lot of Arabian influences noticable in the area.

One of the Arabian foals at Marbach, a filly. The heads of the foals already have the typical shape of the Arabian horses. I opted for a black background here because I think that it shows her beauty and elegance even better.
The Arabian Garden

Photo taken to part of the Garden of Quinta Do Relógio - Sintra, Portugal.
This is a palatial house or large stately home with its neo-Moorish and Romantic style. Built with a project by the architect António Tomás Fonseca in 1860. The buildings were being renovated a few years back but it seems work never finish or stops. : (
Photographed at Klein Drakenstein Lion Farm near Paarl. This is a sanctuary for abused lions. We had the priviledge of sleeping in a tent camp surrounded by these magnificent beasts.
