I wanted to add something as a Throwback Thursday image, so while I was looking for something to add to my gallery, once again I started to delete images that were badly taken, and among all those forgotten photos I found this skipper as part of my 2012 files. I guess what I like about this photo is the pink tones that surround the butterfly and the clarity of its very tiny face looking at the camera.
I believe this is Fiery skipper. Skippers are endangered species, so each time I see or photograph one I have an especial satisfaction.
If want to more about skippers, here is something that you might find interesting:

It is fascinating to encounter their tiny faces and very tiny eyes...
The weekend is around the corner, have fun everyone!
P.S. I want to invite everyone to check out this group, it is fairly new, here is the link:

In my meanderings with intentional camera movement images (ICMs) a while back I came across a photographer who was mentioned by several people as being one of the denizens of the genre. He specialised in post-processing his work to achieve the result he wanted. That struck me as unusual (and from my perspective, welcome) as most ICM photographers tend to err on the side of doing everything in camera and as little as possible in post. This struck a chord with me as my personal approach tends to view the initial capture as just the first step in the creative adventure.
But I was sceptical. I’d heard that he mainly used Nik Analog Efex for his work, and normally I wouldn’t think of going there as my chosen playground for ICMs. I’ve used Analog Efex a fair bit for other things but, for ICMs, I naturally go to Color Efex for playtime.
But it’s Sunday and sliders beckoned so I thought I’d give it a try…
Woah! How interesting! Fascinating, in fact. (though you’ll readily appreciate that I find lots of things fascinating ;) ). Ooooh. I can feel myself definitely having a lot of fun with it in the future. It has a useful selection of unique tools that can create abstracty, impressionisticy, minimalist ‘art’ which often is the kind of stuff I enjoy.
This is based on a (rather boring) ICM image of the Greek mainland taken early this month from a deserted beach that is not easily accessible by car on the north of the island of Skiathos. It’s a straightforward (actually a bit of a wavy movement ;) ) horizontal swipe ICM. See the link to the original in the first comment.
I then tinkered with it. After processing in Capture One to make it nice and smoothe I took it into Affinity and duplicate the image layer. I then blended the top layer with Linear Light blend mode, mainly because I liked the colours. To add a bit more interest and variety (I did say it was boring, remember?) I increased the size of the top image copy to draw colour through the image.
Then into Nik Analog Efex for a bit of play. The result had rotational and zoom blur, a vignette, a subtle blue-green film effect layer, a rectangular vignette and some added grain.
I also added a light scratches texture layer, mainly because I dared myself to. Normally I don’t like doing that. What do you think about the scratched look. I’d be interested in your view on the image and its scratches.
The name of the photographer who inspired me, by the way, is Andy Gray (andrewsgray.photography/ ).
Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy 100x and Sliders Sunday :)
A modest repast....
Imagined in Midjourney with additional work in Photoshop.
Texture from Kerstin Frank. Thank you.
Aquamarine March birthstone, set with a starburst set. Crazy Tuesday Gemstone. I guess you could say diamond in the rough only its not quiet a diamond 😊 The frame is 1/8 inch wide.
My bubble of the season, I usually have my son helping me with the fun project during the summer months, but this year the weather kept us indoors as much as possible, so this time I did all by myself.
I bought one of those kids bubble machines and It worked really well, but it produced so many at once that the fluid mas gone in two minutes. Not having more of it, I did my own mixing of soapy fluid, and tried again. It didn't work as well with the home made recipe, so I had to try the all fashioned way, a straw and my blowing efforts. I was able to make big beautiful bubbles, but when I put down the straw to prepare the camera the bubble was disintegrating, but I kept going at it.
I stayed a lot longer, a family of deer was peacefully eating near by, and I had the chance to photograph them too. What a day, not a cloud in the sky, until I took this one... If you notice the sun was about to be covered by one, so here it is, I might have one or two more of them, but I really had a lot of fun :)
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

The Golden Circle is the most popular route to take in Iceland and you'll see 3 beautiful natural attractions; Þingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall.
However, if you keep circling this route, you'll find the 3000 year old Kerið crater lake and it is well worth the stop. My son and I really enjoyed the gorgeous views, red volcanic rock slopes and strikingly vivid aquamarine water. (MORE PICS IN COMMENTS)
... Isles of Scilly. Actually she's the Bel Espoir II (Brest) not doing any pirating at all (to the best of my knowledge).

Hello, friends! How have you all been?
I have been doing alright. My beautiful puppy Lovey died Thursday night of a seizure. It was totally unexpected and her loss has taken a big toll on me and my family. However, I know that in order to recover from a loss, you just have to keep a positive attitude and stay strong (which I'm trying to do). RIP baby pup!
Please don't ask why Aquamarine doesn't have a shirt on b/c when I see mermaids, their hair always is their shirts.

Somehow at the beginning of January we start to realize that winter will be here for a few months more, and we can't help to go back and remember the days in the sun and the warmer temperatures.
I guess I need a vacation, again...
A happy tune for a Monday :)

I am particularly fond of my Olympus E-PL6 with it's 16MP on a CMOS Four Thirds (17.3 x 13 mm) sensor. : $220
Picked up the threads on the green tarp nicely past sunset and stabilized well at 1/40 sec.
Question being; How many pixels are necessary as we see more and more super HD mega pixel cameras on the market and how many pixels will be rendered by our computer screens?
Portability is another factor - as well as price point.
These vibrant cliff flowers, Crocosmia "Lucifer" , are a wonderful contrast to the aquamarine colour of the sea. The flowers are exotic and have such a strong visual presence ." Dragons", "devils", both seem appropriate names for this hot little flower.

Large shows good wave detail in the foreground (looks like noise in medium).
Going for a kind of polar feel with this one with the chilly palette and the icy-looking reflections. This aerial was shot from a float plane over Georgia Strait.
Have a great day.
