Driving on the A14 (from Bologna to Taranto)/E45 (from northern Norway to southern Siciliy, Italy) in Bologna (as you can see by Bologna's Torre Unipol skyscraper in the background) was this Peugeot 407 SW from Thurgau, a canton in northern Switzerland, bordering with Germany and Lake Constance.
I forgot to say in my latest pictures that here we were driving to our holiday destination, Manfredonia, a city on the sea in northern Puglia, in southern Italy, where my parents are from, and where we go for three weeks every Summer and enjoy the seaside.

This photo was taken just before sunrise on a cold morning in down town Whitehorse. Ambient air temperature was approximately minus thirty-two degrees Celsius, which translates to minus twenty-five and a half degrees Fahrenheit. The low temperatures meant that the open water in the middle of the river was producing a wonderful ice fog, obscuring details on the far bank.
As with most of my photos, this one is not cropped, and post-processing has been kept to a minimum to preserve as much of the natural image as possible. I used the Olympus OM-D E-M1 with M.Zuiko 12-40mm F/2.8 Pro mounted to a tripod and shot in Live Time mode. My biggest concern was simply not freezing my fingers on the aluminium tripod, which can occur almost before you know it at these temperatures.

The view south-east from atop Marina Bay Sands is surreal. Ships as far as the eye can see. Hundreds of them. And not just small fishing boats but HUGE container ships by the dozen. It is like looking at an Andreas Gursky "photograph" but in real.

Approximately 20,000 trumpeter and tundra swans migrate between November and April. Nearly three-quarters of the trumpeter swans that migrate along the west coast's great Pacific Flyway will winter in Washington state, mainly in Whatcom and Skagit counties. More than 1,000 trumpeter and tundra swans overwinter in Whatcom County alone. Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Approximately 100 million Christmas Island Red Crabs (Gecarcoidea natalis) join together to help clean the forest floor as they primarily eat leaves that blanket this rain forest bottom. Here a Red Crab is devouring a leaf as it slowly migrates to the sea. Image taken on Christmas Island, Territory of Australia in the Indian Ocean.
