This is one of the major watercourses in Singapore serving parts of Paris Ris and Tampines New Towns and the Pasir Ris Industrial Area. Interestingly, a 1.2km stretch of this river is just within 5m reach of the nearest HDB blocks in Pasir Ris New Town.

Apis dorsata is much larger than the standard honeybee and much slower in its movements. It has a more elongate abdomen and a prominent orange patch on the first couple of segments.

L'arte dell'eloquenza, la capacità di persuadere attraverso la parola ma anche al simbolo e il gesto.
Nell'opera, dietro al significato, si cela infatti il simbolo legato ad un preciso episodio inerente la vita di Platone. Quando cioè le api (quasi vaticinando il futuro), deposero del miele sulla bocca del filosofo infante, a predire e quasi determinare, la soavità di eloquio del futuro filosofo.
Ma la simbologia passa attraverso vari periodi e personaggi: Aristotele, S.Ambrogio (patrone degli apicolturi), S.Rita e le sue api murarie, qui resa attraverso una immagine essenziale, sintetica e un pò pop.
Il lavoro è stato realizzato in tre versioni: carta, vetro serigrafato e legno pirografato, da vedersi in relazione al "flatus vocis" e alla rielaborazione di Fallini di tematiche quali il nominalismo e la scrittura.

Apesar de se constituirem pragas importantes para a cultura do maracujá, as abelhas e o vento ainda polinizam 4 % da flores. Ainda vou capturar as mamangavas brigando com as abelhas...
