The beautifully polished 'sprung' maple dance-floor is perfect for gymnastic displays ~
and the badminton-court laid out on the floor, overcomes the one big disadvantage of this school's facilities . . .
The Gymnasium is ABOVE THE SWIMMING-POOL !!! . . . and therefore has a low ceiling ~ which makes it impossible to play a serious game of badminton !!!
This alternative court, in the concert-hall is fine . . . with 40-foot ceiling height ~
but necessitates moving half the chairs, everytime the court is to be used !!

The seating on the ground-floor of the concert-hall is removable . . . and this creates a large area to host a craft-fair, and all manner of displays about the school's history !
When it opened, in 1963, this school was the show-piece of the Nation . . the epitome of how a modern High-School should look . . . and I have to say it carries its 50-years remarkably well. . . . This statement, of course, confirms that it has been loved and respected by thousands of pupils during those fifty years . .
And it is the only High-School I have ever been in ~ which has no graffiti, no scuffed plaster or chipped paintwork on the walls, and no broken windows boarded-up !!
