Thoth was considered one of the most important deities of the Egyptian pantheon. In art, he was often depicted as a man with the head of an ibis (bird) or a baboon (see next collage Titled A'an, where this same god is depicted as a monkey), animals sacred to him.
The Egyptians credited him as the author of all works of science, religion, philosophy, and magic. The Greeks further declared him the inventor of astronomy, astrology, the science of numbers, mathematics, geometry, land surveying, medicine, botany, theology, civilized government, the alphabet, reading, writing, and oratory. They further claimed he was the true author of every work of every branch of knowledge, human and divine.

Took this about 3 weeks ago at Beaver Dam Sanctuary. It was raining out, but I got some great shots from that day. More to come over the next few weeks. Enjoy :)
i originally did this with 49 albums, but thought id expand it. it'll be interesting to see if they can all be identified.

GIMP
Hi everyone!
Again playing with gimp and layers, I know it is very similar to the last two photos I have posted, but the idea came after setting up my new mobile phone, I started to add some music when my new HTC One started to play Animal Collective - Summertime Clothes, then I knew what I wanted to do, yes again with layers, gimp and a self-portrait and of course listening music and using my Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens, and here is the result, this time in colors, how you like it?

Panda Bear has a new album called Tomboy coming out today. I actually started listening to Animal Collective quite a long time ago so I'm in the camp of people that feels their songs are really relaxing and warm and that they've inspired alot of other bands as well.
Anyhow, always an interesting listen...

Dude, again much love for the lighting in that place. The last photo I'll be uploading for now of the concert.
PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT ON THIS POST. COMMENT ON THE GUIDE ITSELF LINK.
As part of Pitchfork coverage this year, I decided to do a preview guide for The Big Takeover as many of these bands I am very familiar with, own the records of, and have seen live at least once. Some of my recommendations include but are not limited to: Julianna Barwick, Zola Jesus, Neko Case, Superchunk, Sun Airway, Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Fleet Foxes, DJ Shadow, TV on the Radio, Kurt Vile, Thurston Moore, Wild Nothing, The Radio Dept, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Toro Y Moi, Guided by Voices, Woods, and more. The above is a montage of previous photos of some of the bands I'm recommending.
I value your opinion, too! If you are going to the festival and are excited, please comment on which band(s) you are looking forward to the most. Similarly, if you are not going to the festival but there is a band playing you have seen live and have good things to say about it, please also feel free to leave a comment on that post.
I'd also love to hear from you if you feel I've forgotten any bands that you would recommend seeing that are playing the festival!
The full preview guide can be found here:
www.bigtakeover.com/concerts/pitchfork-preview-and-recomm...
**Note: this montage photo will be removed from my stream after the fest so please don't comment or favorite it directly but you will be able to find all of the photos here as single photos previously uploaded in my stream.**

Animal Collective live at Brixton Academy. I've been dying to see these guys play live! I totally missed out on the Koko show and thought this was where I'd redeem myself.
They played a lot of tracks from their latest album Merriweather Post Pavillion which is all kinds of fun to listen to (I kept singing Lion in a Coma before the gig).
The show was quite a tough one to shoot since it was so dark most of the time (including after the first 3 songs). The guards had no idea when the songs were ending since the band literally powered through the songs without gaps for applauds. They eventually just told us to leave when it got to a point that we were there for quite a bit hehe. I suppose it wasn't dark, but there was lacking in front lights so you couldn't see their faces well, it all suited the music but not our cameras hehe.
After my 3 songs I went back into the crowd and did a few shots there (mm bypassing that bit where you hand your bag to the security folks). I took several wide shots using the digital zoom to focus in properly.
What else? That's about it, they ended up with Brother Sport and came backfor an encore and ended with Lion in a Coma. At times I felt like the moments happened right near the end with tracks like Brother Sport and Lion in a Coma. There were a few other good tunes too but them two were my highlights where the crowd were enjoying it the most.
