Went to Tesco for a food shop today, I was unaware that my gas/electric bill had come out of my bank account, so couldn't pay for my shopping at the till, and I didn't have access to my credit card.
Luckily, a very kind lady who I'd been chatting with, whilst queueing, paid the £33 bill for me, which meant we could use toilet roll instead of letters from the DWP. Actually, might still use the letters anyway, that's all they're good for. 😂😂
There are some wonderful caring people out there and I was touched by her generosity. I gave her a big hug and tried not to cry.
this was the scene outside Angel's Gate Winery, near Jordan Ontario...

Brugmansia is a genus of seven species of flowering plants in the family Solanaceae. They are woody trees or shrubs, with pendulous flowers, and have no spines on their fruit. Their large, fragrant flowers give them their common name of angel's trumpets, a name sometimes used for the closely related genus Datura. (Datura differs from Brugmansia in that they are herbaceous bushes, with erect rather than pendulous flowers - and most have spines on their fruit).
Like many ornamental plants, all parts of Brugmansia can be toxic.[2] All seven species are listed as Extinct in the Wild by the IUCN Red List, although they are popular ornamental plants and still exist wild in other areas as an introduced species.[3]

Just a small portion of a rather massive display.
Cold Shoulder in both meanings of the expression. These two sculptures have their backs turned giving each other the cold shoulder while the angel has a mantle of snow covering her shoulders and along her arm.

"The angel hovers over the world observing the state of the ravaged Earth with tears in his eyes, and yet an almost imperceptible, loving touch of his wings brings comfort and healing. This piece is a response to the pain.”
„Ein Engel schwebt über der Welt und blickt mit Tränen in den Augen auf den Zustand der zerstörten Erde. Aber eine fast unmerkliche, liebevolle Berührung mit seinen Flügeln bringt Trost und Heilung. Dieses Stück ist eine Antwort auf den Schmerz.“

I saw one of my all time favorite musicians, Angel Olsen, at Thalia Hall on Friday and it was very special! Here's the review with links to hear the songs she played if you are not familiar:

All is hushed except the fluttering and snapping and popping of the cloth undulating on the unseen force around our angel.
Peering down upon the masses and deciding if it is time to descend and ask "why do you keep calling me here with all this discontent of life and tossing aside friendships over trivial matters. You need each other in these times of restlessness. I don't wish to bring my kind of pain and desolation upon earth. Please think on what your doing to each other, so I might sit up here quietly and believe in humans once again."Then there is quiet again except for the fluttering and snapping and popping of the cloth and a angel sitting peering down.
Our friend E. lost her best friend this week. Angel was a sweet gentle soul and a beautiful horse. She helped my wife with her concussion recovery, which is around the time when I took this. She will be dearly missed.

Angel station escalators are the longest in the London Underground and fourth longest in Western Europe. We spent a lot of time going up and down these escators while we were in London.

Angel wings. Finally manage to capture a swan when they are spreading their wings, so majestical it reminds me of angel wings.

Angel
Put sad wings around me now
Protect me from this world of sin
So that we can rise again
Oh angel
We can find our way somehow
Escaping from the world we're in
To a place where we began
And I know we'll find
A better place and piece of mind
Just tell me that it's all you want
For you and me
Angel won't you set me free
Angel
Remember how we chased the sun
Then reaching for the stars at night
As our lives had just begun
When I close my eyes
I hear your velvet wings and cry
I'm waiting here with open arms
Oh can't you see
Angel shine your light on me
Angel we'll meet once more I'll pray
When all my sins are washed away
Hold me inside your wings and stay
Angel take me far away
Put your sad wings around me now
Angel take me far away
Put sad wings around me now
So that we can rise again
Put sad wings around me now
Angel take me far away
Put sad wings around me now
So that we can rise again
This glass angel was sitting on my windowsill as part of my Christmas decorations and I noticed how beautifully the sunlight was illuminating the wings. I tried many positions until I got this image that I felt captured what I saw.
“We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing each other.”
~ Luciano de Crescenzo
My favorite cemetery angel that I have made many visits to with my camera. She is missing a hand and a wing, but she is perfect.
