Its different terminals, among other elements, give it a look of mixed typography. Andes is a typeface with 10 roman weights & 10 italics., ranging from Ultra Light to Black, each of the same x-height. This typeface contains additional italic glyphs (a, y, z, g) that help to emphasise text or words. Andes is based on the design of Merced and both of them share several features. Precipitation trends in the Andes are difficult to identify, due to the lack of reliable long-term observational records and the generally high variability in annual precipitation (Vuille et al., 2018). A number of studies reveal an intensification of rainfall, as opposed to an increase in frequency or duration of wet days, basically translating in a change in seasonality and an increase in extreme rainfall events (e.g. de los Milagros Skansi et al., 2013; Castino et al., 2017; Vuille et al., 2018). However, yearly precipitation can vary markedly with both severe reduction or increase in annual volumes, depending on location and influenced by ENSO events (e.g. Heidinger et al., 2018; Ruiz et al., 2017; Lenaerts et al., 2014; Garreaud, 2009).

While most glaciers around the globe have been shrinking since the end of a cold period at the beginning of the 18th Century, referred to as the Little Ice Age (Vuille et al., 2018; Zemp et al., 2015), the recent rapid retreat of glaciers in the Andes has been linked to anthropogenic climate change (Marzeion et al., 2014). Glaciers are sensitive indicators of climate change as they respond rapidly to temperature and precipitation changes. The rapid retreat of tropical glaciers is considered to be one of the most visible indicators of global warming (Vuille et al., 2008). The amount of glacial retreat varies, but small glaciers are most vulnerable and many in the Andes have already disappeared.

Esta es mi propuesta en el diseño de esquema de pintura para la flota actual y futura de Andes Lineas Aereas, utilizando su nuevo logotipo del cual se desconocia como iba a ser aplicado en los aviones hasta hoy.
Las previsiones de temperatura de los Andes basadas en escenarios de cambio climático de altas emisiones (Jiang et al. 2000; IPCC, 2014) indican que las temperaturas andinas podrían aumentar entre 2 ºC y 5 °C antes de que acabe el siglo XXI (Hijmans et al., 2005; Cabré et al., 2016). El grado de calentamiento varía, pero un estudio señala que podría ser más intenso en las altas elevaciones de la región de Cordillera Blanca, en el Perú (Urrutia and Vuille, 2009). Además, de aquí a 2100, la variabilidad de temperatura anual podría ser mucho mayor y la probabilidad de experimentar años extremadamente calurosos podría ser más alta, hasta el punto de que los años más fríos podrían ser mucho más calurosos que los años más calurosos registrados en la actualidad (Urrutia and Vuille, 2009).
