Also known as Trwyn Du Lighthouse stands at 29m tall in the eastern extremity of Anglesey North Wales, The Lighthouse has a stepped-base designed to discourage the huge upsurge of waves that had afflicted earlier lighthouses on the site and reduce the force of the water at the bottom of the tower.
When we arrived the tide was out leaving lots of green moss and extremely slippy rocks. I was walking for no more than about 1 minute before i flipped up and landing flat on my back thankfully nothing more than a few bruises and a cut on the arm as i left the camera gear in the car to have a look around first.

WHERE ST. NICHOLAS RESTS
Saint Nicholas of Myra, also known as “Santa Claus” who was born in Patara and lived in Myra where he was a bishop, is waiting for his visitors at the Tomb church built in his name. Santa is believed to have fallen into his eternal sleep in this place.
HIS STOLEN BONES WERE TAKEN TO BARI
Saint Nicholas was born in 300 AD as the son of a wealthy wheat merchant in Patara, one of the most important port cities of the period and the city where the Lycian Union Assembly building was located. Saint Nicholas, regarded as the guardian of children and sailors, became the Bishop of Myra and he died on 6th December, 365 AD when he was 65 years old. When the Ottoman Empire ruled the region, Italian sailors from Bari seized part of the remains of the saint from his burial church in Myra, during the Crusades and they brought the remains to Bari. He was buried in Basilica di San Nicola.
MIRACLES HAVE BEEN PAINTED ON THE WALLS OF THE CHURCH
The miracles believed to have been performed by St. Nicholas, known as the saint of Miracles, were drawn on the walls of the church which was built by the people of Myra on behalf of St. Nicholas and was renovated over the periods of time.
The Roman sarcophagus, decorated with fish scales and acanthus leaves inside the church, is thought to belong to the Santa Claus, who fell into his forever sleep. Also, bones that are believed to belong to St. Nicholas are exhibited the Antalya Museum.

Also known as the peewit in imitation of its display calls, its proper name describes its wavering flight. Its black and white appearance and round-winged shape in flight make it distinctive, even without its splendid crest. This familiar farmland bird has suffered significant declines recently and is now a Red List species. (rspb)
Mexican firebush, also called hummingbird plant, is a tropical shrub native in tropical climes around the Gulf of Mexico. My bush is thriving now and is already ready for the arrival of the Hummingbirds as they stop to feed before starting their 500 mile non-stop journey across the Gulf of Mexico.

Lago Misurina, also known as the "Pearl of the Dolomites" for its beauty, is the largest natural basin of Cadore.
As a jewel set among the UNESCO Dolomites, Lake Misurina stands at 1756 m. and is known not only for its charm, but also for the therapeutic properties it offers thanks to the particularly healthy microclimate.
A legend says that the lake was a gift from the fairy of Monte Cristallo to the daughter of King Sorapiss, Misurina, who insistently wanted a magic mirror. The mirror (water) was given to the girl, but on one condition: that the king became an imposing mountain, and so it explained the formation of the mountain range Sorapiss and the beautiful lake.
Around Lake Misurina we can see some of the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites: the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Sorapiss, Cadini and Cristallo.
It is the ideal place to make pleasant excursions in contact with nature, suitable for families and experienced hikers, but also to spend pleasant moments of relaxation.

A distant cousin of the more common Eurasian Jay, this is an endemic bird in the hills of Western and Central Himalayas. I assumed this is a migratory bird when I saw it, but I was completely mistaken!
These birds were sighted in several places so assume they were quite common there. They are also a bit loud and tend to be seen in small groups. This shot was taken in a jungle hide on the edge of a forest.

Autumn, also known as Fall in American English and Canadian English, is one of the four temperate seasons. Outside the tropics, autumn marks the transition from summer to winter, in September (Northern Hemisphere) or March (Southern Hemisphere). Autumn is the season when the duration of daylight becomes noticeably shorter and the temperature cools considerably. Day length decreases and night length increases as the season progresses until the Winter Solstice in December (Northern Hemisphere) and June (Southern Hemisphere). One of its main features in temperate climates is the striking change in colour for the leaves of deciduous trees as they prepare to shed.

Also known as Black-Crowned Night Heron, mainly roost in the daytime, they have several key adaptations which other herons don't, that allow for their special feeding behavior. Large, red, light-gathering eyes enable Night Herons to hunt diurnally at dawn, dusk, and into the darkness.

Cable Cars wait to be turned at the end of the line in Powell Street, San Francisco.
I kept an afternoon free to ride the city's iconic cable cars, which was as well, as I spent most of my time standing in impossibly long queues waiting to board the cars. Still, I had plenty of time to line up shots and make the odd video or two.

The tricolored heron also know as the Louisiana Heron is a midsized member of the genus Egretta. This species can reach a length between 24-26 inches (61-66 centimeters) with a wingspan of approximately 36 inches (91 centimeters). The tricolored heron is named for its distinct coloration. It has a dark slate-blue colored head and upper body, a purple chest, and white underparts. This species also has a long, slender neck and bill, and is the only dark heron with light underparts.
Tricolored herons inhabit fresh and saltwater marshes, estuaries, mangrove swamps, lagoons, and river deltas. They can be found from Massachusetts, down through the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean, to northern Brazil. Breeding sites can also be found on the Pacific Coast from Baja California down to Ecuador. Tricolored herons are widespread, permanent residents in Florida, although they are less common in some parts of the Panhandle.
I found this one on an overcast (cloudy) day at Joe Overstreet Landing, Lake Kissimmee, Florida.
The cornflower (Centaurea cyanus), also called cyans, originates from the southeastern Mediterranean region. It is believed to have been naturalised throughout Central Europe by travellers who carried her seed, where it has been populated in many cereal fields ever since. This circumstance already earned her the name Kornblume in the Middle Ages. They are now more commonly found at organically managed field edges.
Also called Windflower

Also known as Mangrove Heron, this is a small heron maybe about 40-45 cms tall. They are resident birds of the country found usually around streams, wetlands and mangroves sighted often on the banks or shallow waters hunting small reptiles, fish or crustaceans.
The bird is usually found solitary unlike the other herons which are often seen in small numbers. In the Mangroves of Goa, they were sighted in good numbers (always solitary) on the banks of the long river, at the base of bridge pylons, or in the small streams that were flowing into the Zuari River. The birds were quite happily hunting the fish caught in the nets setup by the fishermen, or catching the small fiddler crabs that were busy on the shallow banks. Some places, they were close to the many crocodiles, but they seemed to be adept at avoiding the large reptiles.
