What is this? The surface of a newly discovered alien world? If we encountered extra-terrestrial life, would we even recognise it? SETI? 👽

I decided to make a transport vehicle similar to the APC from Aliens and inspired by another pic from the IMDB for Neill Blomkamp's next (fingers still crossed) movie.
The vehicle was built to be played with so has appropriate play features- slinging doors, moving ramps, rotating turret and access via hinged rear door and driver bay. The lighting is a bit naff but I wanted to get something similar to the image online.
Based on the image I'm guessing they're basing the artwork on the "radio controlled" xenomorph idea from the comics.
A play around with some Photoshop stuff on an unsuccessful photo or two plus an AI generated alien group. It seems that we are living in a movie at the moment when something like Zombies have been released into the world sucking all friendship and common sense out.
This mix of roots and small branches met along the way, in the shadows, around the Petit Mont-Cenis area (France) reminded me the Facehugger of the legendary film Alien by Ridley Scott... so, being myself a sci-fi fan, it looked as a nice catch, something not to be missed.

This scene made me do a double take. Had some alien life form washed ashore? The infrared makes the live matter look ghostly white.
the iconic gazebo in FDR Park was the Philadelphia Flower Show's "entrance garden" for this years show.
Striking for sure, but out of all the colors in the universe, I'm not quite sure I'm crazy about this particular color combination.
LOL....I don't know why, but the whole thing reminded me of a giant alien trying to devour the gazebo.
Shortly before astronomical dawn, a thin haze started to cover the sky, slightly blurring the stars. While I normally prefer the sharp and crisp stars of an absolutely clear sky, I kind of like the contrast between the alien looking foreground and the dreamy looking sky.
The image was taken during my overnight trip to the White Pocket area on the Paria Plateau in Arizona. Two LED panels were used for Low Level Lighting of the foreground.

A pink alien with green spots and purple veins? Obviously not but this macro shot of a drop of water on the leaf of an ornamental cabbage put me in mind of such.

Buen Domingo!!!!
The reason why green is the common colour of aliens, because they just love green,

I like what the fog do with the light , everything become so mysterious and you can see the ordinary things different.... the world around you just changes

It's been four years since I've tried one of these, but I had promised myself I would try them again because they are fun and you get all sorts of intriguing results.
This time I tried with a different camera for the Macro Mondays theme of Motion Blur this week. This is the sort of theme I tend to enjoy, though looking at some of the others that have already been posted today I don't think I have achieved their finesse and imagination!
My thanks to Kerry for pointing the theme out to me. I've been so busy lately that I would have probably missed it. Even so this attempt was a bit rushed and ad-hoc.
The approach is straightforward: place a little camera in the centre of a record deck pointing up in a darkened room, set it to the speed for singles (45rpm if you are too young!) and dangle something glittery above it.
You may have spotted the problem with this: how do you press the shutter button? Well that's not the only problem. Taking the image in the middle of a sunny day was a problem even with the curtains shut. Not having three arms was also a problem to hold a torch, trigger the shutter and hold the dingly dangly (cocktail sticks with tinsel tassels in this case) above the spinning camera, as was getting the image down to less than three inches...
Technology solved the first problem: just use the camera's remote control software on a tablet. It worked!! Yey.
My wife said I wasn't allowed to grow a third arm as none of my shirts would then fit :(
And the three inches was solved with cropping...
This is for MM but also fits my 100x motion project :)
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image - it's looking deep into your mind (though I'm OK because there is certifiably nothing left of mine). Happy Macro Mondays and 100x :)
Ok there is a problem with this image that you might spot if you are the sort who uses your alien intellect. At 45rpm with a one-second exposure, you might expect the scene to rotate by three-quarters of a turn. but it looks more like five-eighths (check out the green line).
No.... I have no idea either (though the turntable may need adjusting... or my arithmetic...).
