Alchemy is considered to be the ancestor of modern chemistry. The search for the philosopher's stone that would change lead and other base metals into gold was part of alchemy.

'The Alchemist'
One of my favorite things to do is collaborate with my husband: Vin. Even after all this time we're still finding new ways make our art collaborations even better!
Though this time I came up with a vague idea and Vin ran with it! He created the poses (he makes the most natural and expressive poses I've ever seen...and yes, I mean that) and put together the whole scene you see here! I wish I could have captured more of it!
I just took the shot and did the edits with full intention on practicing shadows to give my pictures a more realistic and natural feel! I am pretty excited to share this one!

The word alchemist comes from alchemy, which has origins in the Greek word khemeia, meaning "art of transmuting metals." Active since ancient times, alchemists could be considered very early chemists because of their work trying to transform base metals into gold. Alchemists could also be considered wizards because they attempted to make special elixirs that would give everlasting life and cure sickness.

I've been living in Nottingham for over 45 years, and now is the first time I've noticed how symmetrical this building is, viewed from where I was standing.
