Ajax Foundry. Hey! Look down! Sometimes the quirkiest things can be found underfoot.

After shoving a loaded coke train to Ajax, this helper set has tacked onto an 8500' cut of cars that they will drag into South St. Paul. The cars appeared to be a combination of MPRSS and an empty coke train, and it had been sitting here at Ajax for several days. UP's recent "mothballing" of Butler, and PSR implementation has caused somewhat of a meltdown on this part of the UP system.

In 1991, Hallen Tourline's pair of ex Sworders Volvo B58-61 Plaxton Viewmaster IVs moved to the unlikely named Ajax - who of my generation is not reminded of the old bath scourer - based in Hornchurch. MUR 238V, now 515 SVO, was in Brighton on 10th August, 1996.

The PRSS/coke train combination slowly makes its way out of the siding at Ajax.

I know I haven't shown much activity recently. After graduating high-school (wohoooo!!!) I'm busy with cleaning up all the mess the last years left in my room. Also I've been building more with real bricks rather than digital recently.

But for now I'm proud I can show you something more historical than all my earlier projects: the "Ajax", one of Austria's first steam engines, built in 1841 by Jones, Turner & Evans in England. I might also design the coaches that go with this engine (to fit PF somewhere) but I'll keep it to this for now as this seems like a nice little project.

Finally, the sun came out reluctantly from behind the thick clouds, casting great amount of golden evening lighting on the colorful tulips. Worth the waiting though I rushed my dinner a bit quickly... Ajax waterfront, Ontario. You can also visit me at www.azimaging.ca and www.500px.com/azimaging

Messed this one up! However, nice location, unique livery and a bit of fiddling around has produced a passable result.

Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns 0-4-0ST 7042 "Ajax" of 1941, Chatham Dockyard Railway. 12th August 2016.

During Easter 2021, a group of 5 orcas (Orcinus orca) came into the bay in Ísajörður in Iceland, a rare event. This allowed these whales to be observed and photographed from the shore. When whales are photographed around Iceland, marks on their fins can be used to identify and follow individual whales, note the notch in the fin on this one on the upper right. This whale is catalogued as SN162, aka Ajax. The orcas remained in the bay for several days before safely leaving of their own accord.

This little guy was balancing on 1 leg for almost half an hour. I learned something new today.

"Bird legs can be a major source of heat loss as they are not covered in feathers, so raising legs alternately into the warm feathers of the belly reduces heat loss of unfeathered areas"

Great pose though, junior.
