My images reflect in the enemies eye
And his images reflect in mine at the same time
I-ya, I-ya
I against I
Flesh of my flesh
And mind of my mind
Two of a kind but one won't survive
This Osprey made for an enjoyable shoot this morning.
Came home and put on some Bob Seger. “Against the Wind” ... I'm older now but still runnin against the wind :)
The osprey (also called sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk) is a fish-eating bird of prey. It is a large raptor, reaching more than 60 cm (24 in) in length and 180 cm (71 in) across the wings. It is brown on the upper-parts and predominantly greyish on the head and underparts.
The osprey tolerates a wide variety of habitats, nesting in any location near a body of water providing an adequate food supply. It is found on all continents except Antarctica.
Arrived at my 8 AM Tuesday delivery, found a place to park nearby, but after being there for about an hour, a security guard told me I couldn't stay there.
Before he showed up I did spend some time taking pictures. Not a big deal, we have a drop yard in Pacific, about 13 miles away, so I went there. Unfortunately, it will take about an hour to get back to the receiver during rush hours traffic.
Oh, about this shot, these are some landscape trees planted next to the building in the industry complex I'll be returning to tomorrow morning.

This is not my usual style of photography at all ... but I hope you all enjoy it just the same. Before anyone asks, the hair is by Tableau Vivant.
And I remember what she said to me
How she swore that it never would end
I remember how she held me oh-so-tight
Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then

Against the shadows on a lone branch, a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher is perched. Photographed in relatively low light, I was able to catch this small bird before it flew off.

You know those shots you get that you just love even though everything about them is not good in technical terms? This is one of those. It was dense fog, heavy clouds, starting to snow, I had my oldest camera with me, and there was this eagle flying against the wind as he circled in for a landing. I was captivated. I love to look at him in times of trouble ... he gives me strengh.

Thank you ...
...really against a harsh hot environment. When one sees the vast dry White Sands Park one really sees the scale and strange environment that a flower can even grow. Yes I laid down to get image - soft for a change but then found sand everywhere, Had to be extra careful changing lens here.

A Common Bluebottle on the ground with two unidentified butterflies as a Spot Swordtail floats by in the opposite direction.
Wikipedia: Graphium sarpedon, the common bluebottle or blue triangle in Australia, is a species of swallowtail butterfly that is found in South and Southeast Asia, as well as eastern Australia. There are approximately sixteen subspecies with differing geographical distributions.
Graphium nomius, the spot swordtail, is a butterfly found in South and Southeast Asia that belongs to the swallowtail family.
One of the grandest sights is a host of spot swordtails mud-puddling or swarming around a flowering forest tree.
Love the combination of a "lit" morning skyline against dark skies....a beautiful contrast.
