I often think that the poor birds that live in this birdbox in Beecraigs Country Park dont get much of a lie-in, in the morning!!

Detail of the pool on the River Etive, Highlands... I visit this pool every time i am in the Glen, it is so powerful, noisy and alluring... The light on the water and the pool walls was wonderful this sunrise...
Test driving my new Lee filters today, I am very impressed with the colour reproduction, this shot is a slight HDR of three converted tiffs, no colour management post processing... interestingly, it is also in combination with the B+W x1000, on a two minute exposure, and the lee filter has got rid of the usual colour cast that appears with that filter... doubly impressed... all I need to do now is sell a body part in order to purchase the circular polorizer!!

I have been avoiding this shot for almost a year, taken in March 08, it was so covered in water drops it has taken an hour to process.. using clone tool in CS4... glad I did...

Check out the colours of Glencoe Viewed Large and On Black
Sron na Creise from the place I call the Cauldron, the last time I was here I couldn't cross the river to get this shot, today was perfect, the sun had risen and was casting its light up Glencoe, and I managed to get some nice shots before it got too high...

another from the archives...I have made this shot of these falls from all angles but I never seemed to have a full frame one.. until now!...
One of my personal favourites from this lovely morning in the Trossachs... I love the light in this shot...
Returned to Glen Lednock, and although the light was poor and it was very cold, managed a few shots!!
Another Scottish Iconic view ticked off the list... not the best weather , but there was a few minutes when the light was rather nice...

One from the archives of a cold and windy day on Lochan na Achlaise with the Iconic Black Mount and 'that' tree in the background!!...
That tree again... low angled long exposure... not a morning for traditional shooting... needed something different... f16 @12mm, Sigma 10-20, 145 seconds,

Not the sharpest shot in the world... fleeting light at the end of Loch Tulla this morning provided a short early morning show...
View on B l a c k or Grey, for a wee change
for those of you that recognise this shot, it is not a crop... and I am not usually one to repeat shots... I always take a landscape and portrait of all my shots... this was the next shot in sequence from the one previously posted...
I post this as I have had some comments on composition about the landscape version of this shot, some people like the symmetry, whereas some like the lack of symmetry, so this is the question I am asking with this shot, portrait or landscape mode?... symmetry, or lack of symmetry? personally, I prefer portrait, but it seems from the views and favourites of all my shots that landscape format wins!!... is it more pleasing , more acceptable or just that it is easier and cheaper to frame?!... actually, my most favourite is Square, but we dont want to go into that...lol
