All of the new Gold 45 Revolver(TM) and 45SURF(R) logos and designs are inspired by the golden number phi and divine proportion! Just as my landscapes oft employ the golden rectangle and fibonacci spiral in composition, all the bikinis, shirts, and lingerie designs are made with the golden section and gold number Phi (1.618) in mind! The golden grids, rectangles, pentagons, and spirals make a far better system for compositions than does the rule of thirds! And too, the golden mean and divine proportion are found in every model--in her pretty face and in the divine proportions of the 45surf goddess's heavenly body! I'm working on a book on all this beautitful craziness in fine art landscapes and models called The Golden Hero's Odyssey, which also ties it to my physics theory Dynamic Dimenions theory (dx4/dt=ic). :)

The great thing about the beach is that it presents an entirely different universe from season to season, from day to day, from hour to hour, from second to second, with the ever changing wind, tides, clouds, and sun. A split second with tumbling surf and a sinking sun can make a vast different, resulting in entirely different photographs.

POLAROID IMPULSE AF (1988)
Il marchio Polaroid è legato ad un rivoluzionario processo chimico sperimentato nel 1929 dal Dr. Edwin Land e che impiegava un supporto che conteneva già al suo interno i reagenti chimici necessari per lo sviluppo dell'immagine. Nel 1947 nacque la prima fotocamera Polaroid, mediante la quale si potevano ottenere fotografie in pochi secondi dopo lo scatto.
Per la sua facilità di utilizzo, il sistema Polaroid riscosse un enorme successo, anche se la qualità di stampa non raggiunse mai il livello della stampa fotografica tradizionale. Le stampe avevano il difetto di soffrire molto l'invecchiamento e l'esposizione alla luce tanto che, in alcuni casi, già dopo pochi anni di normale conservazione, le immagini risultavano sbiadite e fortemente virate verso il blu.
Nonostante tutto, proprio le caratteristiche dominanti di colore e la vignettatura causata dalla scarsa qualità delle lenti in plastica fecero delle macchine Polaroid un formidabile strumento di espressione artistica... insomma, una antesignana della odierna lomografia.
La POLAROID IMPULSE AF del 1988 rispondeva all'esigenza di rimodernare una gamma di prodotti ormai consolidati, come la One Step e la Pronto, a loro volta derivate dalla mitica Polaroid 1000.
L'idea era di offrire una forma già familiare al pubblico Polaroid ma più moderna e soprattutto dotata di flash incorporato e sempre pronto all'uso. Il risultato fu una fotocamera moderna dal corpo dotato di zone ergonomiche rivestite di gomma per una migliore impugnatura e di una particolarità: con un unico gesto, premendo sulla parte superiore del flash, si azionava la fotocamera, il flash fuoriusciva dal corpo macchina per l'uso e spostava il copri obiettivo mostrando la lente.
La versione di punta della gamma "Impulse" era la IMPULSE AF del presente annuncio, che era dotata di capacità di messa a fuoco automatica (autofocus) basato su un sistema sonar utilizzato solo sui modelli Polaroid di alta gamma.
In pratica, la macchina emetteva un segnale ad infrarossi che rimbalzando sul soggetto veniva captato da un sensore sonar di forma circolare posto sulla fotocamera stessa.
Come gli altri modelli della serie "Impulse" la IMPULSE AF era dotata di un'otturatore a controllo elettronico, di esposimetro di tipo cds, di un flash incorporato e della gestione automatica dei tempi di posa:
- Obiettivo con lente in plastica ad elemento singolo, con focale di 116mm e apertura diaframma fissa a f/9
- Otturatore a controllo elettronico, con tempi di scatto da 1/4sec. a 1/200sec.
- Cursore di compensazione manuale dell'esposizione (Darken/lighten) che consente appunto la regolazione manuale della luminosità
- Messa a fuoco automatica con sistema SONAR
- Flash automatico, comandato dalla fotocamera quando le condizioni di luce lo richiedono.
Questa fotocamera realizza foto a colori del classico formato quadrato Polaroid 8x8cm ed impiega cartucce di tipo "Polaroid 600" che incorporano al loro interno anche le batterie di alimentazione della macchina.
Le pellicole per questo modello sono ampiamente reperibili, sia in internet che nei negozi di articoli fotografici, per cui basta chiedere "pellicola PX600 per Polaroid".
Come per tutti i modelli Polaroid, l'aspetto più interessante è il look inconfondibile delle foto prodotte: colori particolarmente saturi e una evidente vignettatura dei bordi che fanno di ogni foto una autentica opera d'arte.
