The af Chapman, formerly the Dunboyne (1888–1915) and the G.D. Kennedy (–1923), is a full-rigged steel ship moored on the western shore of the islet Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, Sweden, now serving as a youth hostel.
Located on the shore next to the Admiralty House, the ship was built by the Whitehaven Shipbuilding Company, of Whitehaven, Cumberland (now Cumbria) UK, and launched in February 1888[1]. It was originally known as Dunboyne, after a town in County Meath, Ireland. Its maiden voyage was from Maryport, Cumberland to Portland Oregon, USA, and it subsequently made voyages between Europe, Australia and the west coast of America. On its arrival in Sweden in 1915 it was renamed G. D. Kennedy and when the Swedish Navy bought it in 1923 it was given its present name after the shipbuilder and Vice Admiral Fredrik Henrik af Chapman (1721–1808). The Navy used it as a training ship and as such it made several trips around the world before serving as a barracks during WW2. Its final voyage was in 1934.
The Stockholm City Museum saved it from being broken up in 1947 and since 1949 it has been managed by the Svenska Turistföreningen (STF, Swedish Tourist Association) and serves as a youth hostel with 285 beds. During 2008 the ship underwent a comprehensive restoration.[2][3] While the ship was being worked on in a drydock, the adjacent youth hostel Skeppsholmen remained open. Usually, the af Chapman and Skeppsholmen – not to be confused with the islet of the same name, on which both are situated – are run as a single hostel, with the af Chapman offering somewhat more extraordinary accommodation and Skeppsholmen housing the reception, a kitchen for guests, and other facilities.

A Gold 45 Goddess guards the beauty of dx4/dt=ic and embodies 45SURF's motto "Virtus, Honoris, et Actio Pro Veritas, Amor, et Bellus, (Strength, Honor, and Action for Truth, Love, and Beauty," and she stands ready to inspire and guide you along your epic, heroic odyssey into art and mythology. This is from my Olympus OMD EM 1 Mark iii. It has a Starry sky auto focus!

The AFs were the first rear-engined double deckers allocated to Godstone, which was the last London Country garage to be all crew-operated.
Originally allocated to route 410 while Godstone's other turns remained RM operated, by 1980 they were randomly allocated to any Godstone turns.
On 29 November 1980, AF 1 stands opposite Godstone Garage waiting for a relief driver.

This Ten seconds long exposure was taken at 04.15am on a beautiful mist filled Springtime morning in the Golden hour around sunrise (Sunrise was at precisely 05.44am), at an altitude of Twenty fivemetres on Friday 24th April 2020, off Bexley Lane and Rectory Lane within Foots Cray Meadows in Bexley, Kent.

Blessed with a stark natural beauty , venerable history and rich and diverse culture Afghanistan has of late been blighted with more than its fair share of troubles .
This landlocked country , at the crossroads of central asia , has seen armies and empires , merchants and mendicants , poets and prophets come and go over millennia , images of a war - blighted landscape do not do justice to a country that once hosted silk road caravans and was once the ultimate destination on the hippy trail .

My first Yashica 230-AF, shown here with a Yashica AF 50mm f/1.8 lens. Shot my first roll through it in early January 2008. I ended up selling it off by that summer, but I must have regretted that and by 2010 I bought another one. I believe I have had at least one of these in the stable ever since.
