The flowers are starting to go to seed, these days. And the best part of that is I've figured out how to collect seeds from at least three kinds. The poppies, the lupine, and the dianthus. Now if I can just figure out the coreopsis and daisies, it will make a nice scatter blend

Maybe this is how they see the world?
A little overexpose magic on slide film. Happy Bokeh Wednesday!
And Happy Christmas Eve!!! Or Happy 24th of December if that's what you prefer ;-)
Heading out for some SOLO II SCCA racing this weekend. I hope the weather doesn't rain us out! There's been some crazy weather systems hanging out over the cascades lately, and we'll be right in the middle of it :-/
Happy Weekend!!!
This is the lens (50mmf1.4) that I've been hand holding in reverse up to the 40d for the recent macros. I've also been using it with my ae-1program body, both forwards and backwards. I just sent that to be developed. I am going to be concentrating on film shots for a while since my sensor pretty desperately needs a clean.
Yesterday I finally picked up a roll of Sensia from the developer. I had sort of put off picking it up since the weather was so iffy, but now is better. For a moment, anyway.
So I find this roll that I am liking overexpose better than at metered exposure. The other thing that works nicely with overexposed slide images is Orton processing. So after a long hiatus... I submit to you, some Orton :-)
Happy Thursday -- next time we "chat" I'll be in TX. See you (and your streams) on the flip side! Oh and this wasn't taken in summer -- it was taken last week ;-)
Winter picture a day 16/90.
Canon AE-1 Program, 17mm F4 Canon FD lens. Fomapan100 film, Adox FX 39 ii, 1:19, 8 mins at 20 degrees.Scanned on Epson V600
Sting like a bokeh :-) HBW!
Sorry for the crappy pic -- probably need to rescan but scanning again won't fix the underexpose. Ah well...
Edited 9/6/08 - replaced with rescan. Much better now... didn't have to doctor it at all after the rescan.
Holyhead Breakwater, previously hosting a railway now long gone, only pedestrians can now walk the full length which leads to a Lighthouse on the far end. The breakwater was finally completed in 1873 after taking 28 years to build.
Taken in what is now a converted Hotel into Flats from the ground floor looking up. I was working in the property but had my camera handy and thought it would make a great shot. At the time I had Kodak Ektar loaded with an F2.8 Lens. Not ideal for handheld! Converted to B&W in Lightroom 6.14.
I rescued him from a blackberry bramble for the small price of making him let me take pics of him :-)

Late Night Adventures in Film
Tokyo
Japan
2020/02/17~24
The first of many late night adventures in shooting with 35mm film. I recently picked up a second hand Canon AE-1 Program while in Tokyo. These photos are some of the very first images I shot with the camera using Kodak Potra 800 35mm film. I soon got pretty hooked on trying different films and soon bought a Plustek 8200i SE and Negative Lab Pro to try and squeeze some more information out of the negatives compared to the cheap lab scans
Canon AE-1 Program camera with 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.8 and 135mm f/2.8 nFD lenses. Kodak Portra 35mm ISO 800 film.

Coming up on a year of film photography now, this was actually the first roll I purchased. It's been sitting for a year with me not really knowing what to do with it. I figured I would try it out on these British Winter overcast days. This was a new area unlocked as well, I had never travelled so far up Anglesey, in North Wales. This turned out to be a 4 mile walk from and to the café up the Breakwater.
Taken with my Canon AE-1 Program and 50mm F1.8 on Ilford XP2 film.
What weird stuff occurs when the lens aberration happens on film and then gets converted to a blue-cast monochrome. Wheeeee - leaving well enough alone is SO boring.
This bluebell is enjoying a little sunshine. Taken with the AE-1Program on the expired (1999) slide duplication film with the 50mm, reversed, held up to the camera body. Good grainy gracious!
Happy Sunday :-)
I recently had a day of walking around. It was my first visit in a good decade. I did not plan anything or where to go. This was one of my captures from looking up whilst walking over the Golden Jubilee Bridges in London, England.
