Got really lucky that the morning was so calm and the water was still, except for the occasional duck. On the left is the South Sister and on the right is Broken Top.
Located in the heart of Central Oregon just 25 miles west of Bend, Sparks Lake is a large, shallow lake. Situated near the northwest edge of Mount Bachelor, the lake boasts spectacular views of Broken Top and South Sister in addition to Mount Bachelor. Sparks Lake was formed by volcanic activity in the area over 10,000 years ago. Pristine alpine streams flow into this beautiful lake.
Sparks Lake is a natural body of water near the crest of the central Cascade Range in Deschutes County.

Thanks for your support and have a safe and wonderful weekend! ❤️
My first posting for awhile into the Sliders Sunday group so perhaps a brief explanation as to why it qualifies. Along the left side there was a building intruding which has now been removed. The sky is an addition, the original was flat grey. The perspective of the building itself has been messed with, giving it more of a funnel shape with the top looking like it's wider than the bottom (it wasn't). As well the usual sliders in the LR basics panel have been utilised to make the image pop a little more than what it looks like in real life.

All is occupied, but feel free to come and visit the public part :)
"Luanes World - Live the Dream", is the newest addition to the Luanes World sims. But as a difference to "Luanes World" @Slice of Heaven and "Luanes Magical World" @ Morning Glow, who are public sims, "Luanes World - Live the Dream" @ Tabara is a residential sim.
The rentals consist of 7 different houses, all with water view.
The rest of the sim is free for all to use, and enjoy.
Note this sim is moderate, so keep everything naughty inside of your house:)
Please respect the privacy of the other tenants - do not contact anybody else, when they are in the privacy of their own home. If you meet them in the public areas, you can of course say hi :)
Price:
Each rental, no matter which house you choose, is 799/week, with a 2 week minimum pay the first time.
After the first payment you can pay between 1-4 weeks at a time.
Prims:
You get 250 prims to decorate the house, and the nearest surrounding with. Please keep within the prim limit, as we all have to share the prims available.
If you need additional prims, you can buy extra prims - in units of 25 prims for 75 linden/week. Write me a notecard if you want your prim limit changed.
Privacy:
Each rental has it's own security orb, and the parcel setting is set to private, so you will be invisible to people from outside the parcel.
You can add people to the security orb, once I have set it up for you.
Music and parcel name and description:
If you want the parcel to have a specific name and/or description, write it in a notecard, and I will add that for you.
Also if you would like a specific music stream, you can put that in a notecard as well, and I will change that for you.
Luanes Residential World Group:
"Luanes World - Live the Dream" @ Tabara has its own group where only tenants will be able to join (as well as subtenants). Only members of this group will be able to rezz on the sim, but the public parts are open for everybody.
Upon renting a house, send me a notecard, and I will invite you to the group, so you can start decorating your new home. Any subtenants you need adding, you put in the notecard as well. Note that this is only needed, if they need to be able to rezz as well.
If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact me. If I am not online, please send a notecard, as my IM's get capped.
Sincerely LuaneMeo.
An addition for my prairie insects collection. This juvenile dragonfly has wings like the male and an abdomen like the female. I didn't realize it was a juvie when I shot it - I was just trying to catch the sparkles on the wings.....

DADDY: "Are you settling in well, Edgar and Benjamin?"
EDGAR: "Oh yes, Daddy!"
BENJAMIN: "Thank you Daddy!"
DADDY: "That's good, my darlings! I am pleased to hear that."
BENJAMIN: "It's especially lovely when we get to take tea together."
EDGAR: "And enjoy such delicious macarons!" *Licks lips with cute little pink bear tongue.*
BENJAMIN: "Grumbly tummy, Daddy! Grumbly tummy!" *Rubs tummy vigorously.*
EDGAR: "Grumbly tummy, Daddy! Grumbly tummy!" *Rubs tummy vigorously.*
DADDY: "Oh dear!"
The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 17th of January is "plush toys", which is the perfect theme for me, as I have a lovely collection of soft plush bears who quite enjoy being in front of my camera and under my lens. Both made by Merrythought Bears in Ironbridge, Shropshire, Edgar and Benjamin are the two latest additions to my ever burgeoning bear family. I hope you like my choice of bears for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile.
This beautiful Willow Pattern nursery tea set was made in England by the Shell China Company in the 1920s. It features four cups and saucers as well as a tea pot, coffee pot, milk jug and sugar bowl. Each piece is gilt edged and decorated with the Willow Pattern in blue, just like the life-size equivalent. It has two sister sets: a 1920s Shell China Company nursery rhyme tea set that I was given as a gift some years ago by a close friend who knows I collect nursery ware and children’s tea sets and a faerie tale set from the 1930s Shell China Company faerie tale tea set that I have built up from various sellers over time.
Handmade at Merrythought in England from warm-gold tousled mohair plush, Edgar is a cheerful companion who has terracotta pure cotton velvet paws, and wears a delightful floral cotton bow tie. He is number 2 of a limited worldwide edition of 200.
Benjamin is made by Merrythought in England too. A friendly character, he has been handmade from soft, caramel-coloured mohair plush featuring a chocolate-coloured base that beautifully complements his pure wool felt paws. He wears a traditional, satin-lined waistcoat made from the finest British tweed and secured with brass studs. He is number 110 of a limited worldwide edition of 150.
Agrilus cf. acutus, Family: Buprestidae
Buprestidae is a family of beetles known as jewel beetles or metallic wood-boring beetles because of their glossy iridescent colors. The family is among the largest of the beetles, with some 15,000 species known in 450 genera. In addition, almost 100 fossil species have been described.
A variety of bright colors are known, often in complicated patterns. The iridescence common to these beetles is not due to pigments in the exoskeleton, but instead is caused by structural coloration, in which microscopic texture in their cuticle selectively reflects specific frequencies of light in particular directions. This is the same effect that makes a compact disc reflect multiple colors.
The larvae bore through roots, logs, stems, and leaves of various types of plants, ranging from trees to grasses.
Agrilus is a genus of jewel beetles, notable for having the largest number of species (about 3000) of any single genus in the animal kingdom.
Happy FlyDay Friday! The biggest Robber Fly I’ve ever seen, about 3cm. It was also reasonably photo-friendly, I’d get a few shots in, then it would fly to another nearby plant, and let me take a few more — rinse and repeat about 5 times! Its whiskers have caught the late afternoon sun (it’s a natural light shot), but surprisingly the eye-patch did not blow-out. Eye blow-outs are an unpleasant addition to most natural light shots of robbers and dragonflies. Maybe the low sun angle helped?—————————————— Single outdoor, handheld, natural light shot, with a Sony A7S, 90mm Sony 2.8 lens, F13, iso 4000, shutter 1/250s, RAW-LR6-Topaz Apps

Gawsworth New Hall is a country house in the village of Gawsworth, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.
The house was begun by Lord Mohun in 1707 but abandoned after he was killed in a duel with the Duke of Hamilton in 1712. Later additions and alterations were made including those to the designs of Sir Hubert Worthington in 1914. It is built in red brick with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and attic with an E-shaped plan. The garden front has 16 bays.

Today, the hilltop castle consists of a small inner courtyard and an outer courtyard. The belfry is over 20 metres high.
Restoration work was completed in 1912, with the addition of a semicircular tower with a stone staircase connecting the floors. The curtain wall was also restored and partially crowned with battlements.

Wild garlic is one of the herbs that prefer shady and partially shaded locations. In addition, the plant needs moist, calcareous, nutrient-rich and humus soil. However, the soil should be able to conduct water so well that no waterlogging occurs.
The placename is probably derived from Irish Dún mBó, "hillfort of cattle," suggesting that a Gaelic Irish fort was on this site before the later castle.[3] The castle was built for the D'Arcy family in the mid-15th century and marked the western edge of The Pale. According to the Civil Survey (1654–6) Thomas Darcy owned the entire parish and on the premises there was ‘a Castle, a Church, a Mill, an Orchard and a fishing weare’.
During the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland in 1649 the Castle was fired upon from the south bank by passing troops on their way from Drogheda to Athboy, but avoided any real damage.
According to legend, the occupant, George d'Arcy, entertained King James on the night before the Battle of the Boyne (1690) and King William the day after, inspiring the couplet: "Who will be king, I do not know, But I'll be d'Arcy of Dunmoe."
The two-storey building attached to the east may be an 18th-century addition. A drawing of 1795 shows the castle intact. It was burned down during the Irish Rebellion of 1798. Now only the two southern towers and some walls remain.[4][5]

What is it, an eyesore
In addition to the previous shot... here is the bittern with its head pointing straight up. What I was astonished to notice was the position of its eyes! It is still looking straight at me! (See Large for the eye view).

In addition to the hundreds of thousands of Snow Geese at Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge, during spring migration, there were over 1,200 Trumpeter Swans. The swans spend most of the winter in the refuge. Here are two of them flying by in close formation.
Trumpeter Swans are North America's largest waterfowl, weighing in at more than 25 LBS.
In addition to the Yellow-rumped Warblers, we saw a lot of Cedar Waxwings eating the Cedar berries. In fact that is where part of their name comes from. From allaboutbirds.org: "The birds’ name derives from their appetite for cedar berries in winter." The bird pictured here is an immature bird as evident by the prominent streaking on the breast and faint looking black mask as compared to an adult. Anoka County, MN 10/04/20
A friend was promoted last year and received a "new" office, filled with stuff left behind by a now retired professor. This Hermes 3000 typewriter was left in that office and needed a new home, so after a stopover for a cleaning and mechanical overhaul, it now lives with me. It was made in 1964, in Switzerland.
These lovely Lantana blooms need temperatures above 55°F, so the only place you would find them in Iowa right now is in a greenhouse. However, these unique clusters of color are long-lasting and a beautiful addition to any summer garden. Photographed at the Enabling Garden in Altoona, Iowa.

In addition to the paths cut into the cliff face, the Carança trail has a lot of steelwork bolted to the cliffs. This takes the form of narrow walkways, ladders (one or two probably 15-20 ft in length) and sometimes wobbly suspension bridges. Occasionally the gap on the cliff side was big enough to fall though!
This is a quite tentative and focussed me, much to the amusement of my son, who had no such inhibitions!

The Iglesia de Santiago is a church that was built in the 14th century on the site of an old mosque . It has a Gothic style with later Baroque additions . It has a striking tower that was originally the minaret of the mosque.

The Saskatchewan Legislative Building was built between 1908 and 1912 in the Beaux Arts style to a design by Edward and William Sutherland Maxwell of Montreal. The Maxwells also supervised construction of the building by the Montreal company P. Lyall & Sons, who later built the Centre Block of the federal Parliament Building in Ottawa after the 1866 Parliament Building was destroyed by fire in 1916. Piles began to be drilled for the foundations during the autumn of 1908 and in 1909 the Governor General of Canada, the Earl Grey, laid the cornerstone. In 1912, Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, by then the serving governor general, inaugurated the building.
People enjoying a boat race on Wascana Lake north of the Legislative Building circa 1910.
The design contemplates expansion of the building by the addition of wings extending south from the east and west ends and coming together to form a courtyard. The plans originally called for the exterior of the building to be red brick but after construction had begun and red bricks were already on the site, Premier Walter Scott decided that Manitoba Tyndall stone would give the building greater grandeur and the plans were adjusted with the substitution increasing the building cost by $50,000. The total cost of construction came to $1.75 million by the time of its opening in October 1912, ten months after the assembly had begun meeting in the yet-uncompleted building.
Of historical significance, the table that was used during the meeting of the Fathers of Confederation in Quebec City in 1864 resides in the building's library, albeit with six feet of it removed. Lieutenant-Governor Edgar Dewdney of the North-West Territories brought the table to Regina, which was the capital of the territory at the time. It was used in the offices of the Indian commissioner for Manitoba and the North-West Territories until 1896. Six feet of the table length was removed from the middle so that it could fit within the limited confines of the Prince Edward Building, the temporary home of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan while the Saskatchewan Legislative Building was under construction.

Poppies are flowering plants with delicate, papery petals in a variety of shapes and vibrant hues.
There are more than 70 distinct species in the poppy (papaver) genus, including opium poppies (Papaver somniferum), corn poppies (Papaver rhoeas) and Oriental poppies (Papaver orientale).
Poppies are an excellent addition to mixed beds, borders and cut arrangements.
They now are the sad symbol of wars past.

This silver button is a new addition to my vintage collection. It dates back to the 1900s and has never been used. I love its flowing lines.
When these clouds moved in to position, I did as well. They add a certain extra to the image that helps complete it. This rail line has been shot by all of my cameras over the years, and this one is a little more complete than the rest with the addition of the clouds. They fill that distant draw in the hills that is in need of a finishing element.
