I made it all of the way around on the bike exactly three weeks after my surgery. It felt like a huge accomplishment!
We went to Alcatraz almost 6 months to the day after my knee surgery. The hills and stairs were a little worriesome, but I made it through with only a little pain and some Aleve! I climbed this flight of stairs at the end of the day. The tour says that going to the top of the island is the equivelent to 13 flight of stairs. We went to the top, to the bottom, and back to the top. Not bad for only 6 months of rehab.

I took the steristrips off today. They were supposed to fall off, but
that just wasn't happening.
I'm still surprised how quickly the incisions are healing, as it has
only been two weeks.
The surgeon says that I have to rest the first three days after the surgery, so I'm making the living room as comfortable as possible in preparation.
I am working with the physical therapist to get better flexion. I am hoping to get to 90 degrees by my next session on Tuesday.

This was just after the gauze was removed from my knee and we saw my knee post-surgery for the first time. It's actually not as bad as we thought it might be. Most of the discoloration you see is the iodine they put on to control infection. I'm actually on the physio table, about to have my knee bent (painfully) for me.
After three days of anticipation, we finally got to see what was under all of the wrappings. Even Sergio the Cat was excited.

this is a really good exercise and one i actually enjoy doing. it's a very satisfying way to stretch my knee.
I was under the impression it was arthroscopic surgery but it sure wasn't.
That is going to be one cool scar.
I learned a lot from the initial injury and my five days stuck on the futon. This time I'm going to be more prepared!
There wasn't as much blood as I expected. There were just a few little spots at the incision points.
