"There's a peace that comes with accepting who you are and knowing who you are not" ~ Morgan Richard Olivier

After much head waggling, wing flapping and general displaying, the female least tern appears ready to accept the fish from the male. Notice how they are looking at each other. This image is 2 minutes later than my last post.

My sincere thanks to all who spend the time to view, like or comment on my photos. It is much appreciated!

May life unfurl in the most delicious way for one and all. Happy new year, peace and acceptance.

Well, I can not see them in this dimension. Sometimes when we feel lost and seem to be exposed to all kinds of risk, even the mildest signs may indicate their presence... And you do not really need to see them to believe the. In short, faith is in itself more than any explanation...

Every colour of the rainbow is allowed and accepted in a needle eye. Did my best trying to create colour wheel :-) I certainly enjoyed this challenge and had a great time creating this shot. HMM everyone!

The Sirius Anomaly deals with the loss of my lil dude Loki, the German Shepherd lab mix I fathered for 13 years. The photos in the series are meant to represent the five steps of grief. However, they are about fighting through the suffering of losing something precious. I am not sure if I did the feelings justice, but they were for me to process and think more deeply on the loss. I am sorry to those that are close to me if I have been distant lately. I typically do not like to bring people into that space with me.

When we understand the importance of living together without judgement we will have arrived at a significantly better place than we are today. It is easy to be judgmental, but what purpose does it have? If we live together in peace and allow one another to live the way we wish as long as it does not physically harm anyone, that is what we should be aiming for. Compassion, love, tolerance, understanding, acceptance, respect, equality, diversity and decency will take you a long way. Steer your children away from hate, greed, selfishness and power, this type of behavior only causes pain and sadness to so many, so let's embrace our differences. This should happen globally with all nationalities being involved. So let's get started now!

In the semi-wilderness of central Portugal it is impossible to maintain a weed-free garden...so I go with the flow and enjoy the beauty of the seed heads, not to be distracted by the tut-tuts of garden purists

For the first few weeks we had given them plenty of room around the nest, and remained in the same place each visit.

On this day, he chose to fly in and land on a close branch. Confident, he seemed to tolerate our intrusion on his work.

The Photographic Society of New Zealand national convention is on this weekend in Queenstown. I was extremely "lucky" to have all my entries in the Open projected image category Accepted!

Motif Number 1, located on Bradley Wharf in the harbor town of Rockport, Massachusetts, is a replica of a former fishing shack well known to students of art and art history as "the most often-painted building in America."[1][2] The original structure was built in 1840 and destroyed in the Blizzard of 1978,[1] but an exact replica was constructed that same year.[3]

Built in the 1840s as Rockport was becoming home to a colony of artists and settlement of fishermen, the shack became a favorite subject of painters due to the composition and lighting of its location as well as being a symbol of New England maritime life. Painter Lester Hornby (1882–1956) is believed to be the first to call the shack "Motif Number 1,"[2] a reference to its being the favorite subject of the town's painters, and the name achieved general acceptance.

A new cat has been abandoned nearby. He seems slightly feral, but perhaps just frightened after previous experience with people.

There are things we miss that we shouldn't,

and those we don't that we should.

― Lang Leav

"A man who took great pride in his lawn found himself with a large crop of dandelions. He tried every method he knew to get rid of them. Still they plagued him. Finally he wrote the department of agriculture. He enumerated all the things he had tried and closed his letter with the question: "What shall I do now?" In due course the reply came: "We suggest you learn to love them."

Anthony de Mello

There is much to love about dandelions. They might be one of the easiest plants to grow. :) Additionally, they are great at catching raindrops.

A colour photograph of a rose.

This picture was taken at 7:30 A.M., I'm still in my PJ's and I had a full realization.

I went through all the stages, and I've finally reached acceptance.

Denial and isolation: "This isn't happening. This can't be happening. I feel like my family is so alone in this"

Anger: "this is unfair! This is unjust! I have to do something about it!.How could the judge do this??"

Bargaining: "Maybe we can appeal, maybe I can ask the New York Times to write another article.. maybe it will change something."

Depression: "Nothing is ever going to change. I don't want to get up this morning. What's the point?"

Acceptance: ".This is the situation. I can not alter it, so it's time to come to terms with it and help my brother. In the end, it is going to be okay. Right now he just needs the support of his family."

My little brother is stronger than I give him credit for. He will get through this. Our family is going to get through this. Life does indeed go on and like they always say "This too shall pass"

Today I am doing alot better. I have a clearer perspective.

This is not going to break my brother or my family, we will pull together and overcome it.

“Perhaps one reason we are fascinated by cats is because such a small animal can contain so much independence, dignity, and freedom of spirit. Unlike the dog, the cat’s personality is never bet on a human’s. He demands acceptance on his own terms.”

All losses are caused by different reasons, but a select few of them happen because something was straight out taken from us, or we were taken ourselves. Imagine being not only stripped of your clothes, your dignity, and your pride, but also being forced to go along for the ride. A ride that involves no acceptance, no going with the flow, no ability to fight, just being absolutely forced to comply with everything and everyone being taken from you.

This can all be metaphorical to describe a situation in your life, but it can also be exactly what it describes. Sex trafficking is still a very real thing and is one of the worst kind of losses you can go through as a human being. Did you know that over 27 million people a year are forced into jobs, not just sexual ones, but hard labor jobs as well? You hear about the numbers sometimes of women and girls forced to be sex slaves, but you don't hear about the number of slaves working on farms, ranches, in mines, and this doesn't even include the number of inmates locked up on bogus crimes and forced to do the jobs society has deemed undesirable. Silenced, subdued, shackled, and sometimes raped repeatedly, there are depths a person can fall into that are unimaginable while the rest of the world declares "We should do something." While sipping their starbucks, and going to get a massage on the weekend at the spa from one of the trafficked women in town.

Next time you feel like you've lost everything, just remember there's a lot further you could fall, and your situation can most likely be fixed a lot easier than some other people's darkest days.
