A week ago I shared my latest work called The Guardian of the Abyss and the Wolf Fenrir. It was inspired by the story of storyteller Xavier Liras and illustration by designer Alexander Shatohin. If you want more information about it click here.
Today I show the same build but with a creepy setting that looks like the context of the original illustration.
It seems to me that this new dark and creepy background fits perfectly with the build.

Yaki Point, Grand Canyon, Arizona
A view into the Grand Canyon as the morning light pours into the abyss.
Four years ago I saw Dryvvall's Talos and knew I had to do something similar, based on the same source material, but only just recently have I had to resources to do it.
The tubes are impossible to keep clean so please don't mind the dust.
For reference this video illustrates how I imagine this critter would crawl around.
Went out shooting with Miles yesterday. He twisted my arm to get me to join him on chasing a shot he's been working on for a while now. I think he just wanted someone there to call the Coast Guard in case he got sucked into this giant hole in the ocean. Be sure to check out his shot from this location - Thor's Well.
We were fortunate enough to have conditions that allowed us to get up close and personal with this amazing feature. We were very much in the splash zone, so it took some heavy duty camera protection (ziploc baggie) and a complete change of clothes (especially underwear).
Props go out to Darren White for finding this location and showing what was possible here (Portal to the Underworld). I'm sure there are many more stellar shots to come from this place.

Yesterday’s adventure was a blast! Came across this 💎 Gem here in the South! By far one of the best spots I have been to while out here...... this Cave drops 150ft with 2 waterfalls inside and it was just so Beautiful to see! Reminds me of something you would only see in a different country. Thanks to @matthewoliver20 @cliffwhetstone & @johnjohnson_981 for setting up the shot and creating some new memories
I'll be playing live this Saturday from 4-5 pm slt @ The Abyss, mixing Ableton, Electric Guitar, and Synthesizer while creating original music. See ya if I see ya ♥

Old but gold - the Atomium is a lot of fun to visit and even has some interesting photo spots like this escalator.
My MOC for the final round of The Tourney:
The Category is Last Man Standing, wherein the final competitors are tasked with bringing the most epic one on one duel to the death. Imagine some fantastic music please.

As for the creation, I'm pretty happy with it. I tried to make the most epic thing possible, like maybe a burning mine (inspired by, you guessed it, a movie I haven't watched, namely Mask Of Zorro), but, I don't know... I'll probably lose. So my congratulations to Jaapxaap in advance. A couple notes are that in every Tourney entry I included a palm tree, (this one inspired by theBrickAvenger), which do you like best? Also that, per request in the category, I do have some FP here. If you look for it in the entrance to the mine you'll see a micro cart and a thinning of the railroad, as well as a small exit into the open air again. Meanwhile, I hope you all like my MOC! I have some pretty awesome realistic photos to upload on MOCpages in a short while.

Several weeks ago, David, Alan, and I made a foray up north to the Canadian Rockies aiming to shoot Abraham Lake. Having planned this trip a year ago, this photo boot camp was understandably highly anticipated. For Alan and I, the trip started off on the wrong foot with significant flight delays and changes. Despite these hurdles, we eventually made it to Canada around midnight.
Per the law of conservation of good luck, we had already flushed out our bad luck and favorable luck was to ensue. Surely enough, during our 3 days of shooting, we managed to catch favorable light 4 out of 6 tries (2 sunrises, 2 sunsets) while witnessing a range of light from burning skies to pastel sunset to stormy dramatic skies.
This shot was taken during our second sunset shoot when an unexpected snow storm approached from the north while hugging the mountain range. This section of Abraham Lake was probably my favorite for a variety of reasons. First, the mountains in the background were closer and they appeared much larger in the frame. Second, this part of the lake is deeper with the ice appearing a translucent black. Unable to see through to the bottom of the lake, the dark ice resembled an abyss and provided stark contrast to the suspended bubbles.
PS – Defying the recommendation of another, we maintained course and did not cancel our trip. We found the lake completely shootable with the ice at least a foot thick and filled with bubbles and cracks.

Usually just unassuming ocean floor scavangers, these creatures turn fiercely protective when their eggs are endangered. The vivid bioluminescent markings serve both to attract mates and warn predators to the Crayworms' potently venomous flesh.
Built for the second round of the MOC-off I'm having against Lord Oblivion! Here's a link to his entry, the theme for the second round was a deep sea creature.
