Today's Macro Mondays theme is Beatles/Beetles (either the pop group or the insect or the VW car or all three), with a full license to go crazy and wacky. :-) Being a Beatles fan since I can remember, the image you are seeing here popped into my head as soon as I finished reading the assignment, didn’t even consider doing anything else. So, I got a pink toy VW Beetle, made a cardboard road, painted ladybugs onto 4 pebbles with waterproof red and black markers, threw in some Christmas wreath decorations and headed for a local park to make my shot for the theme. It was overcast all day but just as I staged the shot, the sun smiled (or quite possibly LOL'd) at me through the clouds for a moment and gave me those lovely shadows and shiny bokeh. At first glance, this may not even look like a macro but, in reality, the toy car is only 2 inches (5 cm) long (the road is 4 inches/10cm wide and the largest 'ladybug' is 0.7 inches/1.8cm in length). I had fun making the shot and I hope it brings smiles to your faces as well. :-)

This is Abbey Road in the market town of Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. It runs adjacent to the River Nidd

Among other things Knaresborough is famous for its Norman Castle, Ursula Southeil (c. 1488–1561), known as Mother Shipton, who was a medieval seer said to have been born in a cave south of the town, John Metcalf, known as "Blind Jack", who lost his sight in childhood and was a violin player, local guide, bridgebuilder, and roadmaker. A public house in the market square bears his name and St Robert, a 12th-century hermit whose cave can be found near the River Nidd further along Abbey Road

Today's photo is honouring the Beatles since today is Global Beatles Day - "a day honoring and celebrating the phenomenon and ideals of the Beatles, collectively and individually, for their gifts to the world including, but not limited to, their promotion of peace and love, of truth and youth, and of the expansion of human consciousness." It is a day to reflect on how the Beatles impacted the world globally in terms of culture and music. The day was founded in 2009 by Faith Cohen. It takes place on June 25th, because that marks the day that the first live satellite production was broadcasted globally. It was a British program titled Our World, and it ended with the Beatles' performance of "All You Need Is Love". Artists from nineteen countries were included in the program, and it is estimated that at least 400 million people watched it, which was the largest television audience up until that time."

I am today years old to finally notice that Paul McCartney was not wearing any shoes for the photo of this album cover. 😂

For the Macro Mondays theme Beatles/Beetles. The song "A Taste of Honey" was on the Beatles' first album "Please Please Me". It was written by Bobby Scott and Ric Marlow. The Beatles performed a vocal adaptation, slightly changing the lyrics . See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Taste_of_Honey_(song).

The background is from the famous Beatles' Abbey Road cover from a CD. Abbey Road, released in 1969, is the last album that all four Beatles took part in.

The honey in the spoon was candied hence the lumps. The portion of the spoon in the shot is approximately 2.5 in (6.5 cm) long. A single shot - not a double exposure.

Macro Mondays - National

The first thing that pops into my head when I think of England is the Beatles, of course! I had to leave Paul and George out of the shot due to size restrictions. Sorry, mates! This is part of a laser-cut greeting card that has the four of them walking across Abbey Road. The image measures just under 3". There is a photo containing the entire card in my first comment.

Happy Macro Monday : )

Macro Mondays Beatles/Beetles challenge. Ladybird, Abbey Road album, cover which includes the artists and a VW Beetle. Hoping for "Additional admiration and countless faves from the group if you can manage all of them in just 3 inches!"

My selfie lockdown project, recreating artwork at home. This is my second attempt at this cove. The 1969 Beatles album Abbey Road

There were actually four guys crossing the road. At the last minute guy #1 decided to slow down for guy #2.

Btw

The guy I'm referring to is the guy that is standing to the right on this album cover, if you look it up you will see him

He was waiting for his wife to get finished in a museum visit, he

had enough of museums for a while, he said.

He was wondering a bit about these guys crossing the streets

They were acting and looking a bit weird, he thought

He noticed himself on the album cover, when he finally got around to see that

Fun fact, isn't it 😁

"HERE COMES THE SUN"

"Here comes the Sun" was written by George Harrison and recorded by the Beatles in 1969 on their album “Abbey Road"

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated.

Abbey Road is a street in London, England, UK. It is famous in pop culture because of Abbey Road Studios where many famous artists have recorded music. A photo of the Beatles crossing the zebra crisswalk near the studios was used as the cover of their Abbey Road album. The area attracts tourists who wish to create their own shot of walking across the crosswalk.

The looks I received while taking this shot is something I'll remember forever :)

but she doesn't have a lot to say

Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl

but she changes from day to day

I want to tell her that I love her a lot

But I gotta get a bellyful of wine

someday I'm going to make her mine.
