A favourable weather forecast saw me finally get my gear together and drive the 60 miles for a sunrise photoshoot at the St Abbs lighthouse. A relatively clear sky led to a real chill in the air but I was more than rewarded but a beautiful sunrise,even if it is to late in the year to frame it nicely with the lighthouse.This image was take 1 hour before sunrise.

In meteorology, an occluded front is a weather front formed during the process of cyclogenesis. The classical view of an occluded front is that they are formed when a cold front overtakes a warm front, such that the warm air is separated (occluded) from the cyclone center at the surface.
Amtrak #8 the Empire Builder rolls Eastward along the frozen Mississippi River S. of Winona, Mn on 02-03-1974. F7A #102 fully shrouded in the blunt arrow paint scheme was built in 1949 and is x BN 9776. Second out is BN 9707 of GN ancestry, followed by BN 9727 in the last Great Northern livery.
