to the scene where Ross Poldark galloped along the beach at Holywell Bay, saving the day yet again, or was it Mr P on the trusted Hoof, home for a short break before his next exploits.

We had a wonderful night at this beautiful location, thanks entirely to Mr P who travelled way too far showing a lot of kindness.

Watch out for this location, Sunday night at 9pm (Poldark)

It is 9pm..do you know where your socks are?!

At the Muse gallery opening yesterday, Brycie had to leave a bit early, and was being attacked by her dog, which seems to love socks.

Someone else made a comment about a Sock Monster. And here we are.

Made possible by Danni, who helped me find loose socks, and Trish, whose laundry prop I tore apart..then realised I had it myself.

I finished work at 9pm on Sunday and as I walked the short distance home I was surrounded by fog. Would it stay until Monday morning? At 5am I woke to fog but a quick look at the weather app showed it would be lifting here at around 6am. Oh well, I had to drive Petra to work this morning anyway as I needed the car to get to a doctor's appointment for 10. After dropping Petra off (I'm sure she was happy to be rid of me and my grumbling that the fog never stays around for me) I headed to Ljungskile - the small town near us - in the hope of some foggy sunrise shots. Alas there was no fog but I was treated to some glorious pre-dawn purples and pinks (photo incoming in the coming days). Happy with what I got I hopped back into the car to drive home, grab some breakfast and a change of clothing before the doctor's time. I got half way home when I rounded a corner and was greeted with some wonderful foggy conditions and a dilemma. Should I stop, foregoing brekkie and a change of clothing or should I stay and take photos. Course I stopped. Walked away 30 minutes later hungry but happy and got to the doctor's with five minutes to spare.

Nearly 9pm when this Badger showed his face. Needless to say, too dark for a sensible shutter speed, so I rattled off about thirty frames, this one had the least motion blur, it made for a pleasant composition too. The others had me playing 'Whack a Mole' for an hour, popping up and down holes all around the shady half of the sett.

At 9PM went for a walk with a friend to explore the area along the river. It was 15F (-9c) and 5.5 hours past sunset – not the best time for shooting, but I only had one night in town so wanted to make the most of it.

This is the Szczecin Province Office built in 1911 that sits upon a small hill and overlooks the river.

I've been wanting to get this shot for a long time now. I was going to drive down to this beautiful spot on Sunday night but the clouds rolled in so I stayed at home and instead decided to give it a punt last night. The skies were clear and the new moon set just before 9pm leaving me alone in the darkness. I also wanted to try the lens that I recently purchased for astro shots like this. It was nice having that extra stop of light to f2.8 and wide 14mm but I'm starting to think that stitching these types of images would be a lot easier if I had taken lots of shots using a 50mm fixed. Anyway, here's the result. I think the long tiring drive was worth it.

I been pretty busy at work lately and TBH this is my first night home before 9PM in quite awhile so I thought damn why not post some stuff and use this opportunity to get a jump on 30 Thursday with this rescan of BN 2239 leading an eastbound near Avery. The CB&Q red was a classic scheme and the 30's looked fantastic in it. Date stamp August 1970, Tom Brown photo, Chuck Schwesinger collection.

Last night at 9pm drove first to Sussex to shoot Milky Way at Beachy Head (despite warnings to stay indoors!) and after that I drove to Kent to photograph this lovely church. What a spooky place at night though! After that did a sunrise too at Devil's Dyke, Sussex so more photos soon.

I’m moving my gallery to Mainland.

it’s been 4 months since I join SL. At first, I rented store in London City, and then moved to Blue Moon Bay where helped me a lot to meet many visitors and friends. I will always be grateful for the landowner of Blue Moon Bay renting her parcel to me which helped me establishing my gallery foundation in SL. The famous Fogbound Blues brought much traffic.

But, it’s time for me to start my new path. Certainly, mainland parcel doesn’t get as much traffic as Fogbound neighborhood. I’m afraid of the low traffic in mainland parcel for sure.

However, I always dream of having my spacious gallery with transparent glass and sunshine hugging our tired soul to drive away the cold.

Thus, when I found this land in mainland with a peaceful park opposite, surrounding such soothing neighborhood, I made up my mind—— This is It!

I’m willing to take risk for my new path. We need to step out of comfort zone for new development. There will always be risk for every choice. Let’s be brave to walk forward to see what the universe brings us.

Please don’t come before the Opening on July 16 as I want to keep my gallery setting as surprise. >v<

I’ll be very grateful for you joining the Opening Event on July 16, 9pm-11pm SLT. And even you couldn’t make it, please visit my gallery afterward. Your visit means a lot to me!

Last but not least, I need to thank SL for inspiring me to walk on this path which I’ve never thought of before joining SL. These 4 months I’ve learned a lot and the SL experiences are fruitful.

If you read till the last sentence, I sincerely thank you for your patience and warm support. ♡

The goal of Art Unbound is to take art from its temple and place it in unexpected places in the grid. So far this exhibition has been in the middle of the desert, old fishing shack overlooking a lighthouse, bombed out shelter of an old German town and a seedy police station in Lynchland.

"As an art curator, I have always believed that art has the power to transcend boundaries and inspire the human spirit. Bringing a pop-up art show to a space station is not just a bold experiment in pushing the limits of artistic expression, but a celebration of our innate curiosity and desire to explore the unknown. It is a testament to the enduring human spirit and the enduring power of art to unite us across the vast expanse of the cosmos." - Cate Infinity

The stress of this shot was that I was waiting for the light knowing the pub I was stopping at finished serving food a 9pm. I did make it in time so had Shepheard's Pie to celebrate!

9pm, a long day of work is over!

Work from 9pm-5am @ Home Depot, then go shoot in the morning light somewhere until Emily takes lunch, then go home and sleep til 8pm, and repeat process.....

Some days I'm way more zonked than others though =P

(I was so wiped I totally forgot I had that Red Bull sitting right next to me, LOL)

A great sign to see that people are listening to all levels of government. The streets are empty at 9pm on a Friday night.

Okay, so almost exactly ten years ago when I last visited Australia, I took a bus trip to the Twelve Apostles and I fell in love with the south Australia coastline. Once I started getting into photography, it really made me want to come back. So I waited patiently for years for a trip to come, and it came. And then for a day off work, and Sunday looked like that day. So a work buddy and I started to drive at 9am. Got to the coast by around noon, and then spend HOURS driving along a windy road, only to get to the Twelve Apostles… too early. It was 7:30pm, and it was still bright out. Now it was still a 4 hour drive back to the Bed & Breakfast where we’re staying, so he was anxious to get back. I’d tell him, “just hold on, the sunset will b amazing!” While waiting I saw a guy taking a photo of a large group of people, presumably on a bus tour. Being the way I am, I asked if he wanted to be in the shot, so he said yes, and gave me (and I’m not exaggerating) 25 other digital cameras. Took pictures of them all, no worries mate! They were very appreciative and offered me some beer from the bus, gave me a nick-name, etc, etc. I told them I just wanted a sunset picture, but thanks.

So sunset finally came a couple minutes later at 9pm, and the sky lit up, but as you can see fro the picture below, it was pretty busy, so getting a spot at the end to shoot wasn’t simple. I was walking around with my camera on a tripod looking for a spot. One of the blokes who was in that group saw me and said (in a bit louder voice, probably because they had all been drinking all day):

“HEY, Mr. 25 Camera Guy needs a spot, back away!”

So he and another guy backed away from the railing and gave me the best spot in the house! And I got the shot I wanted for years and years. larger

See, sometimes helping out strangers pays off. Especially when they’ve been drinking.

Got home at 1am. And now off to the Australian Open to catch Roddick. Happy Australia Day!

On Sunday May 23rd I flew to Spokane, WA for a Monday photo workshop with one of the northwest great photographers Chip Phillips...nicest guy you'll ever meet. I arose from bed the 24th at 2:45am and was on the road traveling south out of Spokane for an hour or so drive to meet up with Chip. As I was driving, I looked east and noticed the first glimmer of light from the sun and guess what ... it was only 3:30am!!! I arrived at our scheduled meeting location at 4:30a. Within a short time Chip drove up and we took off to our first location to set up for our photo shoot. Believe me, he knows his 5D MII inside and out and histograms...if you don't know how to use them (or get to them on your camera) you definitely will !!! After the first round of shots, we moved further south for a 2nd location and by noon we stopped for lunch at a nice cafe and critiqued photos and discussed photo tools and techniques. Afterwards, we headed to our final shooting location - Palouse Falls and what a beauty it was! We shot here until a little after sunset and finally finished around 9pm. What a great day it was! This is one photo of many resulting from my photo workshop with Chip. And lastly...Chip...I'll always be thankful for the wealth of knowledge I gained that day from you.
