Dusty and I work together on the same floor as community advisers. At the beginning of the year, we knew each other somewhat, but it was as much through other people as it was through direct interaction.

That has changed. Over the past few months we have developed immensely as both co-workers and friends. She even got me into the world of flickr!

When I got around to taking this picture today, she was elsewhere in the building studying so I didn't really want to disturb her, plus I had a good amount of work to do still as well. I was going to settle for a shot of me playing solitaire and saying how much more fun it is when she's around, but then I got proactive and found this picture from her 365. Just after I got the winner shot, she showed up in real life with a tripod to help take the picture I originally thought of. She was a bit let down that we weren't taking our pictures together, but I pledged to do more collaborations in the future.

If it's any compensation though, I will say this about dusty publicly:

In this building, she is my rock.

I've been trying to get a characature-like picture of my pup's long nose but I haven't got the one I want yet. So, I combined this one with a photo of a ladybird that has somehow managed to survive the winter. Quite cute if you look closely :-)

I didn't win $800 million, so it's off to the coffee can.

While visiting the wine store on day 9 of 365, I day dreamed through the glass doors at the Cakebread Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon. At 120.00 a bottle, a picture will do for now. LOL.

i finally finished the shadow of the wind (by carlos ruiz zafón). it was a pretty fantastic book, but honestly i was a little disappointed by the ending.

I shot a last minute family portrait and lucky for me that they liked being silly.. This is one of my favorites..

can't wait to try it out...my real first film slr is there and I cannot try it out, umpf...I'm crossing my fingers hoping in a sunny or overcast weekend and not an heavy raining one!

9/365: So many crafts, so little time! I tend to stock up on new projects in the winter when there is less going outside. Anyway, the front is yarn for a new knitting project - a gorgeous colorwork scarf, and the back is fabric to make a skirt. I am determined to sew a skirt this year that will fit me. Obviously, this happy green is more appropriate for summer, but that gives me time to figure out how to do this. Here's hoping I have some time this weekend to start on one of these or the tulle skirts ;)

we have loads of books but I don't get to read much apart from work stuff - I plan to have a good read over Christmas though

This is Gizmo...1 of 4 birds that I own.. Within a day she was dog whistling and saying come here Pixel...Very bright bird..

I feel so lazy today. Unshowered, no makeup, still in my sweats and it's after 12. I need to shower, go to the bank, buy a planner (this semester is going to be crazy busy), and continue my job search.

My niece Nikki. She is a goof ball and this is part of why we love her.

Christmas may be over, but for many Puerto Ricans the celebration is not over. They celebrate las Octavitas.

I considered using this -- but it didn't encompass my day at all. And I figure if I can take a photo that does, I should use it. I liked this photo, though.

I think I've lost 5lbs.
