They just use your mind and they never give you credit

It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it...

But you got dreams he'll never take away

You're in the same boat with a lotta your friends

Waitin' for the day your ship'll come in

an' the tide's gonna turn and it's all gonna roll your way

~ 9 to 5 ~ Dolly Parton ~

TGIF to all my dear Flickr friends. Thank you for your inspiration, friendship, random comments and humour. Have a great weekend. It was mentioned that last week there was a lack of alcohol in my post so making up for it tonight. Drink sensibly and stay safe. 🍷☔🍲 🍺❤️🐈🐈🍲🎸🍹

It's been a long week and I almost miss working 9 to 5 at the office. Here's a clip from one of my favourite films. Got to Love Dolly. ❤️

Cold, wet, but... normal. Some of us prefer it to working in cosy slippers and pyjamas at home... (Warm but unable to meet live people except through some remote screen - or, soon, a Metaverse headset?..)

posted a pano of this a while ago but figured it was worth revisiting.

I would wear this outfit to the office park too ! A very cute Aztec print mini skirt which I would wear with white heels, of course, and these suntan pantyhose ! Wearing this white silk long sleeve blouse pulls the outfit together as the miniskirt shows a lot of leg but the blouse is rather conservative !

I do most of my work form home always dressed in female attire. But it is nice to go to the office once in a while while wearing a pretty dress !

Fuck off

9 to 5 Morning Train

Sheena Easton

'My baby takes the morning train

He works from nine to five and then

He takes another home again'

Sheena Easton not exactly advancing the feminist cause, but still good old 1980s pop fun! The record reached number 3 in the UK in August of 1980, followed by number 1 in the USA in February 1981. The pop video in the link was filmed at the ‘Bluebell Railway’ in Sussex, England. U.K. friends will be familiar with music commentator John Peel, he rated this song as being amongst his top singles.

Just a little scene that I stop and watch about 07:35 each morning on the way to work. The abrupt end to the music kind of fits, as after seeing the train arrive I rush for my bus!

The video is made using 'Live Photos' on iPhone X. Unfortunately, the Live Photos have a unique file type that isn't supported natively on the web. To make the video I had to export the clip to iMovie, where I added one of the pre-recorded sound clips.

I hope that the video gets across the idea of the daily commute, coming and going, each day the same day, being a bit repetitive, but in a fun way.

I'm not generally a big fan of video on Flickr, but I hope friends will like this little bit of light heartedness.

For the record, this is 91117 arriving in York with 1Y11 the 06:30 Newcastle to London King's Cross on the morning of Friday 27th April 2018.

BFA had fun contributing this month (only a palmful of entries!), but it's a start ... :)

Hope to see you in July for Deb's month !

What is the real price we are paying , as we continue to be confined to a daily existence of glass walls, conference calls, and processed lunches???

Remember the movie 9to5 where all the ladies were standing around the water fountain gossiping. This is my version of that movie.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

Working 9 to 5---is there a man out to get me????

Being I was shooting almost directly into the sun I HDR`d the shoot to help the details along and help with the glare.

**Writing this title made me think of the hit song from Sheena Easton. According to the net that song was released back in 1980 :O

Hard to believe 35 years have gone by since that song was a hit in my youth.

Two young girls are disillusioned by the 9 to 5.

They decide to break out of the clock-watching culture and dance.

One common little flower that demands so little by way of time, care and attention but really brightens up the garden on a cloudy day! In our part of the world the illiterate but knowledgeable gardeners call it "9 to 5" as it blooms exactly in that period every day of the year!

what a way to make a living...

Sometimes, there are days like this. I am free from my shackles for a week or so, and officially I have now 'gone camping'. Later!

As Alfred Stieglitz beautifully puts it, "In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality."

Another one of Bob, still hooked up on one of his conference calls. That's what these powerful executives do :)
