Four Chessie Cats lead RS-97 at DL&W Jct. near Pavilion, NY on July 11, 1986. View is from the ex DL&W bridge, which is now long gone. Looks like engineer Keith Fischer and brakeman Mark Gawel in the lead unit. There was only 10 days left before the Borg takeover.

I have a pot full of Poppy flowers that flower in Gold and White. While they have stopped flowering at the moment they seem to spring up each year. This flower was enjoying some of the sun that was rather scarce this spring.

Had interesting experiences at the schools there...didn't take too many actual photos there...this was just on the way there. The fog was intense.

I wanted to try something a bit different, so I decided to set up my camera (the Nikon) on a 4 second exposure in normal light and, well, struck a 'pose'. Although its grainier than I expected, I like how dark it turned out for some reason. Not such a fan of my canckle though...
Another NWP Sunday evening. It topped out at about 105 here today, 113 about 30 miles further east. Here come Wes and Danylo around the Fairville curves seen from the shady, Adirondack chair-adorned pond at Rams Gate Winery. Gonna be a HOT freakin week here, and next weekend sees the annual trip of the Amtrak race extra to the Sonoma speedway about a mile and a half to my back.
My brother Steven and I have known Dylan (#97) literally since birth, and we are each only a year apart in age. This photo captures the dynamics of our friendship perfectly: the constant competition between the two boys and me making sure to document it all! It's nice that even though all three of us are growing into adulthood, we can still spend a day riding at the track just like we did when we were little 8-year-olds on 50s.
Delighted to get enough of a break in the clouds to get the telescope set up!
