Digiscoped using the GH4 mounted on the Swarovski STX85 scope by manually focusing the scope.

I've never seen a Reddish Egret catch such a big fish, and have NEVER seen any bird swallow a fish this size while it was still alive. I think Big Red must have seen this catch, as shortly after Little Red ate his fish, Big Red swooped in and chased him completely out of this lagoon.

I just got the GH4 and was trying out the slow motion capability. This was shot by setting the camera to manual focus and focusing the scope as the bird moved. I love it when he sees a fish and spreads his "mane" and looks like a cobra. What a magnificent bird to watch!!! I also have to give credit to the TVC-33 and leveling base. I had to move numerous times during the filming of this video, and the leveling base let me quickly re-level the system on the uneven beach. This is also available in 1080p at vimeo.com/94473266

This is a moderately different edit of a a video I posted last month. The first one ended up with a black thumbnail, and was probably not seen by some whose interest might have been piqued by a bird with a long red mane.

This was digiscoped on a Swarovski STX85 scope by manually focusing the scope.

This is a sequence coming straight from the camera at 96fps, 24p 1080p. Because of the backlighting situation the ducks are dark but it helps highlight the water droplets thrown by the duck.

I like this slow motion feature in the GH4 but wish there was less of a quality image degradation caused by this high frame rate. The HD quality is not on par with the one experienced when using the normal 24p or 30p frame rate, and certainly not in the same class as the outstanding UHD format produced by the same camera.

Panasonic GH4 combined with Metabones, Sigma 18-35mm F/1.8 lens and a Nikkor 300mm, F/2.8 prime lens. Intro was shot in HD, 96FPS slomo mode. Go to Youtube to see the full video and the other videos. The geese migrate to the coastal areas of Texas.
